  4. And maybe you should lighten up. He was talking about all the TOP CORPS facing each other head to head. I fully realize every corps in the USA won't be there. 24 will be there.
  5. Saturday 7/23 all the corps are in San Antonio, full slate Regional.
  6. the name change is ridiculous. Awakening is perfect. Most of the changes they've been making have been smart, but the name change (and the huge synth moment going into the final wedge push) are ridiculous. They are reworking the end music of the show this week so hopefully at least that odd electronic moment that complete interrupts the musical flow (and ruins that biggest moment in the entire production) will vanish

  8. I guess it's fair to say Cadets got a "fair" replacement to fill that Bass 1 spot - holy molly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SC_JtQDdIvo quick video holy bass warm up from last night
  9. ehh - I personally think Crown's entire show has incredible visual design this year, from the costumes to the drill to the movement to the silks - it's so well coordinated they will add some more meat into the drill in the coming weeks - but what they have on the field is very strong just watch the rifle line for example - some of the catches and tosses are just crazy - and each set is different, very creative and matches the program so well
  10. ya think!!?? This IS the Cadets thread after all. We know first hand design can drag the guard down. Waahhh!
  11. I'm thinking 4th or 5th - but they will be adding to GE this year, vs subtracting. The whole guard story isn't told in just the caption score these days... not even close. Maybe not even HALF of the impact
  12. has a kid in Bluecoats - so old enough to know better ;)
  13. Funny that "east coast sympathy" didn't kick in in PA the past week...
  14. the good thing about that - if they start getting GE comments about the lack of color - it's as simple as changing some flags
  15. that's too funny! I actually think a crown set morphing into a cowboy hat is a very cool idea :) Crowd would go ape
  16. I agree, a lot of work to do and some nice moments so far. Glad it has some "life to it" and hope they continue to improve this season. The book is very tough and demanding, they still really seem to be playing catch up, another week or so we'll have a better sense IMO of how they'll do this season
  17. so after watching Coats tonight and Crown last night (and seeing Coats live Thursday night) I think Crown is now ahead by about a half point or so... just my somewhat educated guess
  18. hard to compare - I'd put last nights Crown a half point ahead of tonight's Coats and put Cavaliers about 1.5 back from Cadets - but that's just a guess
