Isn't the sound really the MOST important thing? These are musical groups.

I doubt I'll return. While Indy is a great spot with easy access to the stadium and lots of cheap hotel rooms, for me the deciding factor is the 'dome'. When DCI set up this long term plan, I felt they misled us into believing that it will be an open-air facility, with the roof only closing for inclement weather. Obviously that was a lie. The sound inside was a mess, and that's not what drum corps should sound like. It's really a bummer that the acoustic side of the activity has taken a back seat to everything else. I doubt the world's top orchestras would concede to having their 'world championship' in a high school gym...

i'm glad to see the recaps with scores all over the place....to me that means the judges judged what actually happened tonight! all these corps are amazing!

Bluecoats had a few holes last night. Did the flu bug hit them too?

Shouldn't the acoustics be our main concern since these are musical organizations? Since when did comfy seats become more important than the sound of the corps?????????

It was AWFUL! Anytime the bass drums, a low sythesizer note, or a suspended cymbal roll played, you lost any sound for the 4-5 seconds as those sounds died away. There was hardly ever any complete silence, as the din (sp?) or residual sounds from what just happened just kept ringing. I was on the 50 yard line in the bottom rows of section 640. I was really shocked that with the perfect weather outside that the roof and stadium ends were NOT open. I thought having this ability was the reason for choosing Lucas Oil. I will definitely rethink ever coming to finals again. It's nothing like the sound of an outdoor stadium, and since corps don't get to rehearse inside, why would they want a championship inside? It makes no sense, aside from being able to close the roof in the event of rain. Bring on Bloomington! (-:
