  1. The parent and child care worker in me kicked in when I saw that kid go down. Same thing plays into why i am inquiring about the kid too. I make no apologies for that. I didn't mean not caring in a mean way. It's just that I've seen 2 posts on the QuarterFinals thread that were never addressed or even mentioned. So I should have said that those posts were overlooked instead of folks "not caring." Mr. Boo, I had to rewind the feed on the FN to see exactly what happened. It took awhile to actually figure it out. The first clue was the audience clapping while the cart drove off. I reviewed it several times to figure out what had happened.
  2. At the end of their show the timp player went down yesterday. Hit the last note an slumped over the timps. Then tried to get off the timp cart and landed on the ground. They had to get a cart and cart the kid off the field. Others have mentioned it in the quaterfinals post but no one seems to know or even care. No one's posted any reply posts to folks that have posted the same thing about the condition of the kid.
  3. I've been searching the threads and have yet to find info on the kid. Hope that person is better. Any info would be nice. Thanks!
  4. WHAT!" In the 3 years we were stationed at NAS Lemoore they never had it in Hanford. I had to drive to Fresno for it! That's cool though.
  5. No mention of Impact from Orlando. I thought they were heading up?
  6. I'm looking for info about Impact Drum and Bugle Corps. Relocated due to my Wife being in the Navy; living in Jacksonville and willing to drive. Even have my own horn. Just looking for a place to call home. Thank you for your help and I look forward to speaking with someone about Impact Drum and Bugle Corps. Respectfully, Everett
  7. I had just found out about both. Looking for more of a Mini Corps. But still would have liked to play while here in FL. Not to mention something a little closer to NE FL. Dang!
  8. Just wondering what happened. The website, FB page, twitter are all dark. No mention of anything. Plus a change to the performance line up for Teal Sound's Memorial Day performance too. I was wondering if anyone has heard word about either group. I was looking for info just about the time everything stopped. Thanks for your help. Everett
  9. It was great to reconnect with friends from both the Renegades and Dream! I enjoyed both shows. Both were fun and very entertaining. I hope that the west cost gets on the ball with the alumni/all-age corps stuff. Having performed with the Freelancers the last 2 seasons has been a "Dream" come true! The alumni/all-age things gives 2nd chances to both those who never had a chance and those who have, another chance to scratch that itch for music and performance.
  10. One of the best discussions I've heard in a long time. It's nice to get some insider info from one of the great minds of the marching/guard world. Really enjoy listening to you all. Same goes for you all. Great commentary and ideas for those listening to the podcast. Tons of great info too. Thanks for the seat we, as listeners, get to occupy. All the best, Everett
  11. Looking forward to seeing this corps. Moving to Jacksonville this summer.
  12. Good. Someone didnt forget The Freelancers to the DCA Mini Corps list.
  13. Yup! As of this year the death blow was the loss of the bingo operation. Before that there was a wiinter drumline. As far as I know we are still a part of the main organization. We've/ they've had rehearsals at the hall. From what I know, things are still passed by the powers that be. Not to sure what the future holds for the organization as a whole. The members of the mini corps are a great group of folks. As far a they are concerned, the Freelancer name willl be out there for as long as possible. The whole mini corps thing stated in 08, I think? As for uniforms, there has been three/to four different ones. The late 90's had a combo of red jacket and black or white pants. Then there where the triangular ones in the mid 80's. Before that there was a cadet style uni. I never had a chance to march in a DCI corps. The closest I ever got was marching at Riverside Community College 93 & 94. We had a bunch of corps folks. It was pretty much winter corps! LOL! This year is my first with the Freelancers Mini Corps. It's been a blast! Hope I've been some help.
