So many posts about the upcoming season, so I thought this would change it up.

I also thought Teal had an amazing uniform in 2010 before the brown was introduced...

I want too see a fiery latin show. I'd love to see the scouts pull it off

I think the Glassmen have been looking extremely sharp the past few years.

Look on ebay for used Kings. Kings are really nice and long lasting. I bought one on ebay for about $40

I'm a big trumpet/sop nerd, from what I can tell you from playing these horns, they really are incredible. I believe King makes the best marching horn around. I thought the 1117 model was as good as it could get, but the new system blue really steps it up. The horn is very comfortable in the hand and the intonation is extremely solid. Its not a horn you'll need to fool with in order to stay in tune like the others. It really was amazing. Heck, even the system blue mouthpieces are worth the purchase.

Hey guys. I know drum corps is our life, but what do you guys do outside of music? For example, I run track, Cross Country, and play Varsity baseball Sorry guys. Meant to put this under the other discussion

Hey everyone. So yea, I know there is already a topic on this, but in the next year or two Platinum is going to switch to Kanstul G bugles. What do you guys think? I know a few guys who are marching Platinum this year, and they expect it to bring A LOT of new attention. Member-wise and fan=wise. Now I havnt had a chance to see Platinum yet, (But I am competing against them this year) I think with a good musical selection, they can really tear it up. What do you think?

What are Kanstuls usually compared to? Just so I can get an idea. I would die to try one of those horns... But they are so expensive... And is Dynasty still made by DEG?

So what do you guys think? I can speak for trumpets here, with my favorite being with kings. I love kings, you can really put everything you have into them. My second favorite... You'll hate me for saying this... But Dynasty... They have a really nice tone, and for me, it was really comfortable. 3rd favorite, Yamaha. I really dont care for these horns. They feel so... Average. To me it feels like a factory horn. Yea, its a Xeno, but coming from a guy who playes on a Schilke outside of corps, it doesnt feel right. And last, Quantinum (Jupiter). I havnt played any recent ones, but a few years ago when it first came out, I did not like this horn. The main issue for me was comfort. It hurt to hold. It didnt feel natural, which, to me, makes the horn. So what do you guys think for your section?

As a professional symphony player, as well as a corps member, I have struggled with finding that "perfect piece". But the truth is, everyone has their own personal fit. But on a simpler level, a 7c has easy tone production and is usually what all players start on. A 3c is made for a more professional player. Its deeper, but you can express yourself a lot more, and your tone is generally darker. Are you beginner? If so, go with a 7c

Hey guys, I heard a rumor that Star of Indiana was trying to come back as an open class corps sometime soon, but I cant any offical news on this, anyone hear this?

Hey guys, So how is the whole open class-world class championships going to work? I hear from some people that every corps that makes finals in open and world will perform world finals night. But others are saying the top 12 corps in score, nomatter what the class, will be in world finals... But I cant find anything from an official source about this, how will this work?

Hey guys, So what exactly determines the transfer of corps from division 2 to 1?

Thanks everyone for the advice As of right now, after checking with my options and everything, Pioneer seems like a great starting point for me. Especially after seeing their 2010 show, I'd like to see what Pioneer has in store for 2011. Not to mention, the next audition camp is late January, perfect timing for saving up money for the trip. As for other corps, honestly, I would love to be in the Scouts, but, with less than a week to prepare, I really don't see that happening. Same with Teal Sound, I love Teal, but as a rookie, I cant jump on the ship late. I realize that now. So yea, of course, with a drum corps fanatic like me, I still have debating in my head over corps. Right now, the Legends open class corps is looking good for me too, but hey, I think Pio is the way to go this summer. Thanks again everyone

Hey guys, I just have a question in terms of auditioning. In November I went to Bluecoats camp and had the time of my life. I really couldn't get enough, even though I wasn't called back, I saw how amazing this activity is. Well, about a month later, I'm dying to march somewhere this summer. I will do anything to find another corps. I just miss that Corps feel so much. But here is my problem, with performing in allstate band as trumpet, it's leaving me with very little preparation time for any type of December camp, but I know I can do it. The corps I'm looking at are the Glassmen, Teal sound, the Bluestars, and any other open class corps close to northern Kentucky. So in terms of how many spots are open in the corps, and distance away from my area, which would you guys suggest? I'm willing to put everything I have into this. Thanks guys!

This would all be fixed if the trumpets had Schilkes, The mellos had yamahas, and the low brass had kings.... Thats not gonna happen.... But just saying...
