  1. Then explain why when Yea investigated the allegations, none of the accusers wanted to cooperate.
  2. I'm not trolling. I've never understood why in these "he said she said" situations we should always trust the woman's word. It just seems fishy to me because the cadets were a first class organization under his leadership and if he really was molestering color guard members then some of that would have bled over in their performances.
  3. I'm not saying he's definitely innocent, but my gut tells me that he is probably innocent. If he really is guilty then I feel horrible for the victims but I have always loved the cadets and don't think they would have been nearly as great if they didn't have george on their team. Cadets 05 is one of my favorite shows of all time.
  4. I met the man when I marched and he seemed like a great guy. The cadets under his leadership have always been one of my favorite corps. I genuinely don't want to believe he raped any of those women
  5. BTW I didn't march glassmen and won't reveal who I marched for, only that it sucked going to shows and having our colorguard get beaten by pioneer while us and the drumline consistently competed with top 12 corps. It also sucked having holes half the season, that's why I suggest to people they should shoot for the stars. I wasn't miserable, that was probably a bit too harsh of a word but I would be lying if I told you that I didn't regret at least trying out for a better corps. I just didn't know any better. And to your point about just taking what you learn into the next season, I couldn't march more than one season because it's expensive as hell to do drum corps.
  6. I used to love drum corps, but the amplification and electronics have ruined it for me. If you prefer the mic'd up horn lines of today over the bugles from thirty years ago you have horrible taste
  7. Don't listen to this guy. Try out for the best corps that is holding a tryout closest to you. If you don't make it then shoot for one a little lower. You don't want to be in a corps that is below your talent level because it will make for a miserable summer. I know from experience
  8. Thank you for helping me to relive that moment when phantom was announced winner that night. I actually went to finals this year and it was AMAZING. Not to mention we were in front of the Bluecoats durring their Boxer horn hit (my hearing has never been the same )
  9. Its not that I don't like it, I'm just airing out some minor grievances I have with the direction drum corps has taken recently. It's not like I'll ever stop being a fan And I appreciate you marching when you did, but by the time I got to march drum corps was completely different from the drill we marched to the instruments we played
  10. and this is based on what? At what point did I detract from the performers? Of course they're great
  11. So it dismays you that people want drum corps to return to its former glory?
  12. And I'll say this: appealing to the lowest common denominator is why music is in the state its in. Don't you people have any principles?
  13. To your first point, why do you think corps don't have enough money to field a show anymore? The activity as a whole isn't generating as much money so there is less to go around especially for those who don't make finals. Connect the dots As for your second point, pop music these days is an abomination. This only makes me hate the synthesizer even more as it is a tool recording executives have used to bastardize music even further
  14. No data to support it? How many corps are folding or even competing in world class these days? Take the blinders off friend
  15. I'm not even really arguing that. The activity is dying and in my mind the downward trend started around when the switch happened and as more of these electronics are incorporated into shows that trend will only continue, mark my words
  16. Oh I didn't realize that tonality wasn't judged 30 years ago
  17. I'm absolutely serious. Also to your second point you're dead wrong. Compare "loudness" of corps on finals night to what it was thirty years ago.
  18. Look around. Progress for progress' sake isn't always the greatest idea
  19. My question is when do the electronics stop? If i wanted to listen to electronic garbage I would go to a skrillex concert
  20. You're just not hip with the times dinosaur. It's obvious to me that you don't understand the use of electronics on the field and maybe its just too esoteric for you. *sniffs own farts*
  21. Let’s dispel with this fiction that DCI didn't know what they were doing when they switched away from bugles. They knew exactly what they were doing
  22. The answer the shills here always gave was because they were too expensive, its easier for kids to learn b flat instruments, its easier to resell the current horns. Of course this was all a lie by people who want to see drum corps die
  23. Same to you brother! Long live bugle lines and making the audience #### their pants with the force of your sound!!!!
