  1. Well, luckily the "word" did not have any affect on the corps, as they got an 80.00, proving once again, that you tell them they aren't going to do well and they'll kick your ### on the field. BOOTS :sshh: Hope the Colts are doing well!!!!
  2. Good luck getting a soprano. However, Cadets, Crossmen, Cavaliers, and SCV - corps that march Yamaha all sell their instruments at the end of each season. www.yea.org, www.scvanguard.org or the on the cavaliers site.
  3. Wow, I must have missed that part in all the talks I have heard from him. My impression of him, George doesn't feel like he is better then everyone and that he deserves anything. In fact, he has worked extremely hard over the past 20+ years with the Cadets to get the respect he has.
  4. HAHA...moved more than Cadets and Cavies?? HAHA...HAHA.....HAHA...well...maybe more as in time wise since cavies did sit and had a long ballad...and Cadets had the jam session in Malahguena ..but difficulty while moving ?? NO WAY! Jase I think every corps says we moved more, played more notes. Just how people like to compare themselves with other corps. So I guess its MY TURN! YEAH!!! I think we had more notes in Bubba then other corps did, especially in the hornline a capella section, but thats just my humble opinion, take it for what it is. For some reason, people seem to be saying that the 03 Crossmen never moved. Thats funny because I barely stopped. Sure we had our halt down and dirty sets, but other then that we moved. Look at the end of Blue or Bubba, the standing O just shows how intense everything was. As for the hardest book, name another corps who played 4 styles of music, then find one who did 4 styles off Jazz and had all the articulation nailed with everyone in the hornline. No one. Well I should stop before I get people telling me what I should or shouldn't say.
  5. Ok, let me voice my opinion. On one hand I think its cool that they go to Europe to promote the activity. But what I don't like is that the Cadets went to California in 2001 which is only 2 years ago. The last time the Crossmen went to California - 1983 according to the alumni page. That is one year after I was born and I am aging out this year. 20 years since we went over the rockies and saw the other ocean. But yet the Cadets are going across the ocean to another continent. George Hopkins once asked what can he do to improve the Crossmen - How about putting us infront of Cadets every now and then. Alas I am preaching to the choir so I guess I am just going to have to accept the fact and be happy for them.
  6. As a Trombone player, I play on a Bach 5GS since I have a small shank instrument (ARGGG!) But I started off the summer playing on my Bach 3G. It sounded great until I got my Yamaha 48 like the rest of the line was playing on. Everyone sounded great and then the 3rds and some 2nds got put on a Yamaha 51 and holy crap, it was definitly a change in dynamics immediatly. Tone was still the same. I remember rehearsing in Pennsville, NJ and playing on my 48, and then being given my 51 the entire section got much louder instantaneously during rehearsal.
