  1. I have not been on the site for over a year. I need to premise this in that I did not like the music of the last three years. Do I know what I am talking about as I have been involved for at least 30 years with the corps? I have been a volunteer in many capacities and a member of the board for a number of years. I am no longer a member of the board and three of my children marched in the corps. I have traveled extensively over the years so I know how it functions. I know the failings and the successes of the corps. Putting all that aside I am tired of everyone making assumptions and guessing mostly negatively about the Regiment. and the coming year and you have not even seen the show for the first time.on the field. Until you do I think you should reserve your opinions until you see the final product. I was ab;e to see the Webinar on Sunday and for the first time feel we are headed in the right direction. I love the music as it has that Regiment aura about it and it is both classical, modern and eclectic. No, I will not tell you the repertoire. Powerful is the word. From what I have heard of the show concept they are on the right track. I think we will all be pleasantly surprised. I will say this the show is modern and eclectic but has a touch of regiment tradition. Give the kids and staff a break before you make assumptions that are not fact-based and you have seen the show. So to all a great big SUTa
  2. I was at finals in 08 with my children that marched. What a night. It was unbelievable. I am sure you will remember it for a lifetime. My daughter aged out in 89 when we took second. Always the bridesman...
  3. This was meant for PHD above I dont know what t did. Sorry Grammie
  4. Just curious how long has it been since you worked with PR or had any on hand involvement with them. Did you march, volunteer or teach? I have a feeling you will not answer the questions. If you have been involved with them when was the last time? For historical perspective into your reasoning.
  5. Its time t o stop the bashing and get on with drum corps at its best. Here is my contribution for what is positive with PR this year. 1. The horn line is very good and headed back to its deep dark sound. 2. Will Pittts has done a good job as brass arranger. 3.The drum lines book according to drummers is better. 4. Guard is excellent. 5. The new King horns has been a good move. 6. Love the flags and guard costume. 7. Kids on the mend from the flu. 8.Corps always puts out a 100 percent in finals So here we go. I hope Bloo wins they deserve it.Drum corps has been very good this year.
  6. It is not a food born illness but the flu everyone. They are on the mend. Apparently some of you dont know that the corps would not blame sickness on their placement. No matter in Regiment tradition they will do their and be proud. So to all the PR members SUTA. To the rest of the corps "break a leg" And go BLOOOOOO
  7. The negative topic you have adopted for several years. The low road has been your operative name. You dont know the meaning of constructive criticism. So I will get on the high road and dismiss your posts and get on with the real world.
  8. You dont know anything and I am tired of your hot air. You are one of those know it alls that knows nothing and lives under a dark cloud. and rock. I am just tired of you. So If you care to know I have been involved with the corps for over thirty years. Three of my children marched with the corps and have attributed their success in life as to the lessons PR taught. Yes I am loyal and I do know their faults as does every corps. I just attended the 60th reunion and hundreds came back to celebrate and pay their respects and love for the corps. So you see it is more than a drum corps it is a phamily that teaches many important lessons in life. I have been their thru the good and bad times with them and we always bounce back. If you look at various corps history most go thru ups and downs. So get off you intellectual high horse and get a real life.
  9. So are you saying that you are afraid to address your issues with them. Just so you know all the powers that be can take constructive criticism. You have all the answers so put your money where your mouth is. Your consistent griping and negativity accomplishes nothing at all.
  10. . For Pete's sake let it go you all. Crawl out form your Drum Corps PLanet cave and take your grips to the powers that be if you have the courage. Belly up to the bar boys and apply for the job since you seem to know how to fix it and have all the answers.
  11. For once could we not bash the administration and just enjoy the effort of the PR performers and of all the drum corps. Give them all credit for their hard work. If you have a legitimate gripe address them to the powers that be and quit hiding behind Drum Corps Planet with your comments.
  12. I am back for the last of the season. I got to see live drum corps at Show of Shows. Did not like Blue Stars too much stuff on the field and it took away from the show. Loved the The Academy. Crown is very good but did not do anything for me. I loved PR's show as you know I have been involved with them for a long time.. I do have to say this that I felt the show harked back to the 1990's.. I feel we are stuck in the past. Horns are great and guard is very good and beautiful. Need innovation like 08 Spartacus. I hope Bloo wins as I say show on Facebook. It was fabulous and on and on/
  13. My eyes are open and I did know about that but all corps go thru trials like that at some time and eventually make the needed changes. I have been around when things got ugly and we survived. I hope they continue to improve.
  14. You dont now what you are talking about and you are making assumptions without ever being there. Since you dont seem to believe what I have to say and I think you only listen maybe to hearsay or nathsayers. You all seem to forget we are a pretty successful corps over the years. I dont see you all bashing Madison or the Cavaliers due to their place ment in the last few years. I would really like to know what you have against Tim and Dan.
  15. I hate to burst your bubble but I dont think JD is coming back. As you dont know the whole story you need to stop the speculation. If he does I would fall over in my rocking chair, As for board bashing you dont know what happens in the meetings or what is discussed as it should be. As a member of the board for a number of years many times tough decisions were made. I have no current knowledge of what is happening but I know they will try to make the right decisions in the best interest of the corps. It may not be what you all are suggesting. Many factors go into choosing new staff as to how they fit, availabilty, money, philosophy and others. So we will have to wait and see.
