As someone who has followed the surf all winter I as I did last year, I believe they are much farther ahead musically than they were last year. Are they dirty? Absoutely! Can they clean it up and compete with the higher teir corps? Again, absolutely! I love watching their show as these kids are truly kids. Check the average age of all the world class drum corps and see where Surf falls in at, you might be surpised at what you find out. As a member and supporter of the surf family I judge the sucess of their performance by the crowd, not the score.

Just add some red and bring the capes back.

When I first saw the show at the begining of the season I hated it. But then as I watched it several more times I really started to enjoy what they were doing. Then the first time I saw the high camera recording of the show and how the forms moved with the music I was hooked. Next to the surf this is by far the most entertaining show I have seen this year(IMO).

As a parent of a "rookie" in the surf I can say I have been impressed with the way the organization has gone about exposing the kids to the bridgemen legacy.
