I noticed 3 of the judges scores for the Crown were not in sync with their other scores for the finals. Their scores for the Crown were noticeably lower then the mean or avg scores they were giving for the night. Standard deviation would conclude their scores should have been thrown out. Ergo: the two top corps should have a "Showout". I would pay to see that happen.

Why can't DCI adopt sports division play where at the end of the season the team with the worst record during the regular season can with the help of division playoff win the world series against a team like BD. Playoffs means the colts can win with perseverance and less judgmental judging and with crowd appeal counts as 75% everyone and anyone can win and you'll get larger and money producing crowds. So to you naysayers, and corps has way too many including me, get off your B flat and C sharp.

My wife spends half the summer as Head Chef and is considered one of the best on the road working with the best and punting as the best when the situation arises, esp when she has to help another corps needing help with meal because of budget problems.

Do the BD always win because they're good, have the most money, had the most judges involved with them at some point in their lives,draw the biggest crowd, or once determined philolsophically you can't lose it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Now I see the Troopers are gaining ground with the same all, same all and no pizzaz. I think corps should chose a name which is powefully noticed and crowd pleasing, ie the Firebrands of _____!! Next year we are starting a NEW organization called Drum Corps Universal. To compete you have to have all nations be involved. If less than 50% come from other than the USA there will be no competition. There will be no judges, only present crowd participation. If you need financing it WILL be found. Stay tuned for future news. Shows will be held across the globe. If Olympics can do it, so can we.

Realistically we live in a world where we want everybody to be treated equally, but as my mother always said, Sorry, the world ain;t fair. I guess the BD are better than anyone else and always will be even if they they have all the money in the world. No politics here, and we better get use to saying President Romney.

All major sports have playoff seasons. Wouldn't it be great to see a lesser corps beat a not lesser corps? Start playoffs before finals week. The Yankees went 12 years without being in the playoffs, and people loved it. When a lesser ballclub won the whole thing, the nation loved it and basball's revenue went up. Think outside the box. A playoff would drive interest and revenue up for DCI

The only corps not in the top 12 for the past few years and receives consistent standing ovations for being a true crowd pleasers are the Colts from Dubuque,Iowa who reach the age of 50 next year.There's a prime example.

Every corps should compete in a specified amount of shows. If you're doing like off broadway without any critics, then the other corps are at disadvantage, their audience for change is the judges. The only bad example of this is Spiderman-The Show they already spent a boatload of money and had to acru it by going straight to the big show.

What if DCI got a percentage of each corp's funds as contingency to help those corps i.e.Teal Sound so they can finish a season. MLB does this for either starting new teams or struggling ones. The rich help the poor what a novel idea. This way you get the paying crowd and positive reinforcement. And happy parents. Try 3 divisions so everyone has a chance of succeding.
