  1. yea I have a 10lb weight that I've been holding. The longest I've been able to hold it so far has been 4 minutes, and I try to do that continuously for about an hour a day with 2 minute breaks in between each rep
  2. Hello everyone. I'm stuck and I need some help. Well I'm having my first drum corps audition this fall (bluecoats) and I don't know if I should audition on bari or euph. I wouldn't mind playing euph, its just that I have VERY little upper body strength and that's why I'm considering baritone. The only problem with that is my changes of making it would be that much slimmer, since bloo marches 8 baritones and 16 euphoniums. This is bugging me and I don't know what to do. I've changed my mind so many times. I march trombone in my high school band and that's not heavy at all so I feel like baritone would be the better choice muscle wise, but euph would give me a better chance of getting a call back. Any advice on what you think I should do??
  3. Interesting. I've never even heard of some of these corps!
  4. Just curious what everyone's top 3 favorite corps are of all time.I couldn't choose 3 so I'm doing 5 and they are 1. Bluecoats, 2. Carolina Crown,3. Phantom regiment 4. Crossmen 5. Boston crusaders.
  5. I'm sorry but you're wrong. The bluecoats shouldn't be scoring low in music and neither should BD. You're ridiculous. Glad you're a troll and not a judge!
  6. I don't know but I wish I did. Most people say that the bluecoats are great but underrated. I'm a huge bluecoats fan and I'm hoping to become a bluecoat this year. If you ask me, they should be in 5th place this year because phantom just isn't doing as well as they usually do. I just want bloo to get gold! Well now that I think about it, maybe that's why they're underrated! They've never won gold! I don't know but I'm just coming to that conclusion.
  7. Love the bluecoats! Can't wait to audition for the 2014 season!!!!!
  8. Hello David! I'm going into my senior year of high school and I plan on going to the bluecoats Ohio audition camp this fall. It will be my first time auditioning for a corp. I play baritone, but trombone is my main instrument. To answer your question, no previous drum corp experience is needed to march with bloo. From all the advice that I've gotten from parents of bloo members, age outs, and current members is that if you work REALLY hard and make a lasting impression, then you could possibly have a spot. I was also really worried about not getting a spot over a vet but from what I've heard, vets don't have a guaranteed spot and you could get a spot over a veteran. Just practice day and night and get into shape, and work really hard. If you get a call back, do even better than before and you could have yourself a contract! But keep in mind that if you start to slack before move ins, you could easily be replaced. Just go in with a positive, but not cocky mind set! Good luck to you and maybe we could both become bluecoats for the 2014 season!!
  9. 1) Carolina Crown 2)Blue devils 3)The Cadets 4)Phantom Regiment 5) Bluecoats 6)SCV 7)Cavies 8)Madison Scouts 9/10)Blue knights/Boston Crusaders (not sure which one will make which) 11) Spirit of Atlanta 12) Crossmen It's gonna be a tight race this year between a few corps
  10. So what does everyone think finals placings will be for world class? From 1st-7th name the corps in order of what placements you think they will have at finals. I'm not entirely sure yet but the top three will be: 1st- Carolina Crown, 2nd- BLue devils, 3rd- The Cadets
  11. Nice to know. I'm determined to make it this year or next year!!
  12. I was just wondering if I needed to have a solo prepared for my bluecoats audition. I'm going to the audition camp so I'm not sure if I still need a solo prepared.
  13. Thanks! Good to know. I got a 10lb weight and I've been practicing holing it at horns up and down. I will apstart pushups and running next week
  14. Well I live in Ohio so I won't have to worry about traveling fees but thanks for helping me out! Im glad that I know about how much a euph weighs now!
  15. Hello everyone. I'm a 17 year old senior in high school and I plan on having my first drum corp audition in November. I was just wondering how hard it was to get sponsorships. I'm auditioning for the bluecoats and I know that they have a sponsorship program. My mom won't even let me audition if I don't have money by November and I believe that it costs $2600 for bloo. Could anyone help me out with this problem? I'm not positive that I will make it my first time but its nice to know money options before I even audition. Also does anyone know how much a marching euphonium weighs?? I play trombone and I've been playing euphonium for a few years too but I've never marched one. I need to know if I need an 8lb weight or a 10lb weighted practice holding because I don't have a marching euph and neither does my school because we only use baritones. Any advice would be helpful!
