I'm sorry but I know nothing about DCA and 35 members sounds like they weren't too good of a corp. could you explain this more?

Ok so I know nothing about DCA except that its pretty much made up of all age corps. I was on the dci Facebook page and they announced that Pittsburgh would have a new corp by the name of mon valley express. I went to their website and got literally no information what-so-ever. From what I've learned on dcp is that they're probably competing in open class and that they used to be a DCA corp. Could anyone tell me more about them please? I'm considering auditioning but I need to know if they were any good and why they weren't active for a while and all that stuff. Thanks in advance!

My old band director supported it all the way. He'd take all of the students to DCI shows. My new director actually marched and I believe he said he's judged too. So yes, band directors support DCI

Get her the arban's trombone book. That book helps with lyrical technique, scales, tonguing, long tones, lip slurs, range expansion and so much more. Its a really great book. I got mine used online for $12!

It really sucks that they're inactive. There was a guy at my school who worked his but off to make their 2012 tenor line and he only got to march with them for a year. There were a few other kids at my school who auditioned for the 2013 season that made it but then glassmen released the bad news :(

I say amplify it because if you don't, they won't be heard over the hornline and battery. I like that you can heard the pit because they have cool parts

I wanted to do a summer with crossmen, troopers, or Oregon crusaders but I live in Ohio and I don't really have the funds to travel once a month. I barely have the funds to even join a corp. Glassmen is inactive right now so I can't even consider them either so I'm kind of stuck.

I know its a tad bit early but what corp or corps are you auditioning for in the fall and on what instrument? I'm auditioning for the bluecoats (my dream corp) on bari/euph. I don't plan on making it this year and its more for experience but I'm not going to just crap all over it either!!

I love the bluecoats! I'm glad someone is showing them love. I don't really see much about them but when I do, its always something positive. Im really excited to go to the audition camp this year! Keep up the amazing work bloo!!!

I'm so proud of every single corp out there because everyone worked their butts off all season long. Special shout out to the bluecoats on 5th place and to Carolina crown on their first medal!!!!!!

that's the same lick that I was talking about. It's a baritone lick and they're using it to help them. At the beginning of the season, there was no synth in the lick but they weren't projecting it enough so they added the synth and now you can barely hear the baritones.

Yea I agree but I don't know. I'm pretty hard on bloo when it comes to low brass (probably because they're my favorite corps and I expect more of them) but their baritone section makes me cringe at times. They don't execute enough to me sometimes. Like I said, it could just be because they're my favorite and I'm hard on them lol I still love them though

Ouch I'm sure that probably sucked at the time. Maybe your kids will be able to march phantom one day

Phantom uses a fair amount of synth though
