  1. I'm a little late, but congratulations to the Bluecoats on a big win in San Antonio. I'd love to see them win it all. Always liked them and really became a big fan in 2010. Last year's show was my favorite musically and now I'm so ready to see them live this year! Only 1 week until Chester!!!!!
  2. Where are the drum scores coming from? I don't see them on the breakdown from DCI.org.
  3. Agreed. Maybe it's the awning over the seats and the way it traps sound.
  4. Felliniesque was a favorite of mine for BD. Definitely deserved to win. Seeing the videos, I think I'll like this show. I like the melodies in the music as well as some of the "edgier" parts where there is definite turmoil. I see emotion in the show and the color guard looks so good. I won't get to see them until Allentown so I can't wait. Not sure why they aren't at the TOC in Chester. They were there last year.
  5. Me too! I'm bringing 5 newbies with me to the show. Hopefully, they'll have their faces blown off along with their socks!
  6. Kinetic Noise was my favorite "musical" show last year. I was mesmerized from start to finish with the overall sound of the corps.
  7. That's more than I'll see this year. Next year, I'll be at Finals.
  8. Yes, sir! Will be going to Florida for 2 weeks and then coming back to Chester, then Allentown! Can't wait to see/hear Cadets, Bluecoats, Crown, Vanguard, Crossmen, Phantom Regiment, Blue Knights, Scouts, etc..... However, I will be out of the loop with drum corps info.
  9. Chester can't come soon enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. No. I haven't seen any of the shows live this year but I will in Chester. I'm saying in the past few years they weren't pumping out the volume that the other 3 were. I also know that volume doesn't always equate to the best brass line either so I wasn't putting their horn line down. I was just making an observation from what I hear. I'm ready to hear and see their show. Cadets are one of my favorite corps. They were the original corps I liked back in 1993. I'm not sure why you think I'm putting them down and have to make some kind of comment like "well traveled man you are." I didn't even say I saw them this year.
  11. I find that the Cadets are not as loud (brass-wise) as BD, Crown and Bluecoats. I enjoy a good face-melting sound in a show and it seems like Cadets don't get the overall volume of some of the other top corps. Last year, they were definitely not a loud as the other 3. They do have their moments though.
  12. Agreed. i have tons of respect for BD. from a competitive standpoint, there needs to be some spice. i would love to see the Bluecoats win their first tiltle. if BD is the best corps every year, then they deserve it but i personally would like to see more variety in the champion. there has been too much domination to keep it interesting from the competitive side.
  13. Quote from George Hopkins on Facebook: "Very proud of the Cadets today and tonight . Great work after 9 hours on a bus and a hot hot day We are indeed on the way to bring the real deal. Another 5 weeks of this and good stuff and great learning will follow."
  14. I still love Allentown though. I like the simplicity of the event. Next year, I'm planning on going to finals but still want to go to Allentown too.
  15. Yes! PPL Park seems to amplify the sound! Now, when I go to Allentown the day after, Chester, the corps don't have the volume they did the night before.
  16. i saw the Cadets in a quick parade shot on NBC news tonight. just a quick (one second) shot but it was them in their traditional colors.
  17. I'm definitely one of those fans! I show up early and try to find a corps to watch in rehearsal until the gates open.
  18. With adding woodwinds, how many members would a WC drum corps have? If you kept the same number of brass, how many woodwind players would you need to be able to have a balanced sound? Corps could go from 150 members to 300! Plus, it's more difficult to keep the woodwinds in tune with the brass.
  19. I'll see you in Chester! Can't wait!
  20. Thank you guys who were at the show for giving us some LIVE insight about all the shows! Can't wait until I get to see the show in Chester, PA and then Allentown.
  21. Yes, because most of the opinions about the show on here are from video. Live is the best way to judge a show.
  22. I know. i was reiterating the point. They haven't gone head to head with the Bluecoats yet so you can't really say that the Bluecoats are better.
