  1. Dumb Drama? Haven't you just created even more drama? Anyways, the Cavies certainly have a shot at 3rd or 4th this year. They've come a long way these last few years finishing 9th in 2015 and 5th last year. It's exciting to see ones Corps competing at the highest level of Drum Corps.
  2. Is that what we should be talking about? I'll let all the other Boston fans know, thanks.
  3. How am I high jacking a thread that is specifically about a show that the Crusader's performed in this evening? And what happened at this show? The Crusader's beat the Cadet's for the first time in 37 years! But you find the mentioning of this annoying! What else do you find annoying? How about all those Cub fans going off on how they won the World Series? Did you find them annoying as well? Going on about how they were going to beat Cleveland in the seventh game. They sounded like Red Sox fans from a few years ago. How annoying!
  4. On July 8th in Orlando the Crusader's were 1.45 behind the Cadets and tonight they bested them. They are now only 1.8 behind the Cavie's. The question is no longer will the Crusader's beat the Cadet's before San Antonio but will the Crusader's beat the Cavie's in San Antonio. I say in San Antonio as I don't think they will be competing against one another again until then.
  5. But how will they ever be able to perform wearing all that head gear?
  6. I believe you have to go all the way back to 1979 to find a show in which the Crusader's outscored the Cadet's. If my memory is correct we beat them every show that year until the D.C.I. prelims where we lost to them by 2 points. Things are looking good for Boston overtaking the Cadet's but they still haven't beaten them as of yet. The Cadet's are a Corps whose history dates back before that of Boston's so they certainly know what it takes to hold off an opponent over the course of a season. Boston has it's work cut out for them but, having said that, they are the Boston Crusader's and they are coming on strong.
  7. I don't have words to explain why they would want to say that either but they do and I'm sure the Corps members can handle it. I would also like to add that their are more than a few fans who do have expert opinions that are worthy of being paid attention to by any and all Corps staff members. I'm not one of them as I was away from Drum Corps for 30 years. I know that you are not implying that all fans are ignorant but I thought the point should be made.
  8. Or even how the fans treated the Lancer's and North Star differently than the Crusader's. I'm sure the Lancer's and the North Star didn't take much guff from anyone but they were nicer than we were. They also didn't leave much to criticize. But enough about the past as that is for the hysterical or historical section of DCP.
  9. I'm sure it did happen to your Corps but not to mine.
  10. I agree and had actually edited my post to include a statement similar to yours but somehow it got lost due to my ineptness with social media. Most importantly, I would want to add that I've seen some of the performances of the current day Corps and witnessed the obvious pride they have in their Corps and in their performances. I'm not at all worried for them. I'm sure they can take a punch.
  11. I marched in the Boston Crusaders during the '70's and I don't remember any popcorn eating fat old f---- approaching us to criticize our performance. It would not have been the smartest of things to do! That is unless they were very fast old f-----. Today's Corps are a lot more approachable and I believe this is a good thing. I think pride in your Corps can be something that emanates outward to the point that, if their is some Bozo out there approaching to criticize, they may pick up on this vibe and decide it would be best to keep their ignorant remarks to themselves.
  12. I agree with you that statements made on DCP can be brutal but I don't agree with you when you refer to 18 to 22 year olds as kids. They are, in fact, young adults who should be able to handle the critical opinions of those of us on DCP regardless of how mean spirited they are. Young adults need to learn to be resilient and to be cognizant that their are some people in this world who are just mean spirited and rude. Speaking of being rude, I think your citing of the notion that "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" is a bit nauseating. If all you ever say to the "kids" is nice things then they are never going to grow up and be prepared to face the world as it truly is. In other words these young adults need to learn the difference between #### and Shinola and DCP certainly has plenty of both. We have a lot of 18 to 22 year olds in our arm forces dealing with the evils of this world and I would hope that if these young adults can handle the darkness and brutality of war then those who our spending their life having fun in the sun playing Drum and Bugle Corps should be able to handle the negative statements made on DCP. Yes, I know they work hard, but that doesn't mean we should envelop them in some sort of security blanket to make sure nobody's feelings get hurt. God forbid we harsh anyone's buzz.
  13. A pink elephant is a drunken hallucination. Is this the pink elephant situation you currently find yourself in? How can one be real while at the same time experiencing hallucinations? I would think that Crown would take offense in your description of their Guard score as being hallucinatory. Their score was in fact quite real as was Boston's which I believe was the point you were trying to make. I think Boston will respond to the reality of these scores and, over the course of the season, close the gap and eventually overtake Crown. Go BAC
  14. Pamaho, I'm surprised that such an educated man as yourself can not fathom what this thread is about. Maybe if you didn't take things so seriously you could figure it out. I'm not some sort of nihilist! Their is something here!
  15. Corps! Thank you, it's as if I'm not myself anymore.
  16. I have matured beyond middle school! I would approximate my maturity level to be around the same as most 18 to 21 year olds. Their are times when I behave like a 16 year old but not too often as I know that the more I behave like a 16 year old the harsher some people will judge me.
  17. I've been vague, esoteric, obnoxious, alienating and unapologetic. Isn't this what you love? Where is my standing ovation?
  18. How can you question the meaning of my show? How can you judge me? How can you criticize me? I've worked very hard on this. I've worked all summer long, 10 to 12 hours a day and your criticizing me? I'm just a kid! What kind of people are you?
  19. Yes, it is the state of this thread. It took a while but we finally made it.
  20. Where did all the fun stuff go? You ruined my show! I've been silly, absurd, alienating, difficult to understand and I did all this without wearing a shako. How can you not be entertained! It's art! It's Drum Corp!
  21. You can tune a trumpet but you can not tuna fish.
  22. Claymation is one obvious example.
  23. Barigirl78, well done! I have nothing to say in response as I am a man without specifics, without sources and a flawed understanding of the creative process.
  24. If you need specifics then your too far gone.
  25. No specific's necessary, it's obvious. Pamaho, I have the feeling that many of the written words that are out there sound all mashed together for you but thanks for trying to break it all down for everyone.
