What is the "culture" that you want to see changed that isn't being changed?

Based on the article he didn't report rape to Acheson. He third hand reported a relationship between GH and a member of the corps... which may or may not be true. None of the victims that have come forward were members during that timeframe. Hopefully if those allegations are true the victim will come forward and corroborate the story.

Honest question, if you were in charge and this allegation came up what would you do?

If your support is dependent on the board making the terrible choice not to follow up on these accusations then the corps is probably better off without your support. I think that you think you are more important than you are.

A large number of them are Cadets alumni. You don't see why someone would want to work for the drum corps they marched? Location is also a factor, not everyone lives in Concord or Santa Clara, someone might live in Pennsylvania and want to work for a drum corps. Not to mention there are a limited number of corps, especially top corps, and a limited number of jobs at those corps.

A lot more than a few donors would be lost if this allegation wasn't investigated and Sean wasn't suspended during the investigation. There is someone in the alumni group on Facebook making similar claims as you and they are being shut down pretty solidly by everyone else. More donors would be lost if this wasn't handled properly.

This is what I've been afraid of. It is really easy to believe the victims when it is someone like GH that nobody likes anyway, but if someone people like is implicated people let their like of the person get in the way.

BS, it is incredibly insulting to call the members of the corps advocates for a rapist. Any claims to the contrary are mindbogglingly inappropriate. The rapist is gone. The members and corps in general are victims here, not on the same level as the women involved in the story, but victims none the less. Good people are in charge of the corps and YEA now, and I don't think the changes finished (I fully believe the boards days are numbered). Progress is being made.

DCI isn't going to force The Cadets to fold and to think that they would is absurd. At most they will say "These are the steps that must be taken to continue competing in DCI" and then The Cadets will make the changes and everyone moves on. The bigger concern is the long term effect on YEA and how that affects the corps.

Given the number of people who have insinuated that this is just the tip of the iceberg it would be irresponsible for them not to follow up and try to find more victims.

You know a lot of people willing to lie about being sexually abused just to get back at someone in drum corps?

I have less faith in the board than you do. But then I thought GH wouldn't resign and would have to be fired, so who knows.
