neholgate replied to BigDale's topic in Alumni Corps Discussions
lol Is this recruiting tactics, Dale? Peggy forgot my chicken-something-whatever-I'm-going-to make dish. Just an FYI ... VK is having a potluck picnic at the Walnut/MSAC show this Saturday. If you'd like to attend and need directions, message me and I'll send you the info. -

John McCoy comes to rehearsal when he's not busy with Dream. We have Garry Parker (drums) and Gary Lima (baritone) from Vegas. -

You wouldn't be the only one. We have two others from LV. Maybe we should start a carpool. -

We have a member (sop/screamer) that's also a truck driver too. With his schedule I'm amazed that he can fit us in whenever he can. Love that you're playing still. Just heard a funny story from a VK alumni that once got pulled over fir DWD (driving while drumming), so be careful! -

FINISHED WOMEN IN DRUM CORPS PROJECT!
neholgate replied to allie's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
My fault. I just happened to meet the founder of the CapitolAires on Monday after the DCI Preview movie. I poked around on the internet and found this great article and thought former corps and old DC dinosaurs like me might appreciate it. -

Very cool! Good luck to you guys this year. -
Can you please list where the corps will be staying or rehearsing for this Wednesday's show? The show is sold out and would love my 85 year old mom (a former corps mom), to at least see a couple of corps rehearsing. She lives just a few miles from the show site, so anything in the general area would be great. Thank you so much, Nancy

Not a hot destination but... The housing should be more accommodating in Fresno and surrounding communities and the school's stadium seats over 40,000. Although it is a three hour drive from the major airports (San Francisco and Sacramento).

I'll second that.

No, he's not in the corps drumline.

Click to watch. Thanks to Mayra for sharing.

Thank YOU so much Dale for coming down and supporting the kids. The members really appreciated it.

Interesting to compare the the WC and OC scores side by side. So much talent in both World and Open Class members!

Only one that I saw was for the Open Class division. Very nice Oregon Crusaders! Now lets see more uploads and results! Congrats to all participants.

Would love to know how all the kids placed today...

That would have been nice. Lord knows I pushed the votes the whole time. I'm sure it was true for all others. It's kind of like tax season. A few file early, some wait a month or two but it's the last day rush that always makes the news. Hopefully we'll remember the woes of yesterday next time voting takes place. -

Well I understand corps loyalty and all, but with the economy the way it is we need to be loyal to the "activity" in general and vote for all the corps. I used 18 out of my 20 for corps. Most of them were the smaller ones. The only reason why I didn't cast all 20 was that a couple of organizations started a heavy campaign for the us which I appreciated. It's sad. Some corps that I voted for got less than 100 votes, others, well known corps, barely got over 100. What's up with that?! Next time, please, let's :::ahem::: band together and support one another. Okay? Nancy (Yes I voted for OC too)
