  1. Plates rock. I have a lot of fun in my plateline. I wish it wasn't considered "cut" to plates, but, such is life.
  2. Thanks for clearin' it up! Unfortunately, I won't get to see you, due to the wonderful schedule that we have now. But, I'll be sure to check out the tapes.
  3. I heard all eight are vets at devs, and that one of the quadz might be new, beating a vet out for a spot. As far as the LBS, thanks for the mention! We're actually going 7-4-5, with 5 snare vets.
  4. Hey Jeff, maybe you should send something to DCI about that "seeing a show 3/4 times" thing if they judge finals. Seems they might have missed that memo this year.
  5. *phew*. I seriously read all seven pages. I don't frequent this forum, I'm usually on the div2/3 forum. But here's a few cents from me. Yes, we all have our personal biases, and we all have our favorites for whatever reasons. They are indeniable. But Cadets we AMAZING on finals. They were straight up ON FIRE. Do I enjoy the cadets? More than some, but they aren't my favorite. And to me, that's ok, because if everyone had the same favorite, this activity would suck. #### clean wins. (if you're in the top 5 or so, granted, Crown, etc, get looked over. That's another conversation.) And Seth, man, as far as Todd Fox goes... lighten up man. Todd is not a terrible judge. I would ask for another judge if I had the choice, but it doesn't work like that. Our pit had amazing four mallet exposed feature in the closer with sick permutations that I remember countless times, including finals and prelims, when the drum judge was in front of the battery instead. Whether or not it was because the cohesive of the subtleties we were playing were more important, or what have you, the judge always knew what the pit was playing. Now on finals, where we saw a judge we had only seen us once, and didn't really know what to look for, I was upset. But, that's the way it works. Marion ended up winning, and I have no doubt they deserved it just as much as we may have. And no, he was nowhere around us for the snare break. Such is life.
  6. The LBS is kickin' out the snares for sale, with the basses and tenors to come. I can guarantee, as the center both years, that these drums were cared for like you wouldn't believe. Well, maybe you would. BUY THEM. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...2367180774&rd=1
  7. Check it out. A great staff, to be sure, and good things are happening. There is still time to get in on a great summer!!! Jake. www.bluestars.org
