  1. Well poop, I was hoping to watch the DCI stream tonight.
  2. Right now I think the Cadets are the corp to beat, I don't think their show will be a show that will win in august, maybe meltdown was a poor choice of words to use in this case. Just my opinion, only time will tell. Tobias, I watched them win in 83, Rocky Point was absolutely the best thing to hit drum corps back then, even in 82 I knew they were going to be great.
  3. This early I haven't seen any issues with feet or any other marching problems.
  4. Hey, I'm on your side, I think they have a great chance to be the champs this year!
  5. I'm speaking in terms of the total package, if you had to pick a weakness in their package, brass would be it I would think and that's not too bad :)
  6. I would say that's pretty close, don't think Cavs will take SCV but haven't seen SCV live yet and I wouldn't have a honest clue past #11
  7. Yes, I would think so, brass was a weakness last year as well, but I think they are in better shape this year than last at this point.
  8. LOL, not like a total meltdown, just drop a spot or 2, they sound great just don't think that show will push them into the top spot, but who knows.
  9. I haven't seen BD or SCV live, only on youtube but based on what I have seen so far... BD and BC close 1 and 2 Cadets and Crown duel for bronze Show design being a determining factor i'll go with Bluecoats with BD a level above all on performance, it will be close
  10. Their uniforms are fine, too much red would mesh too much with the guard equipment.
  11. No kidding, this is the first big show of the season and corps typically make the biggest performance jumps in the first couple weeks, this could answer a lot of questions early on.
  12. I just think it's coats show this year, if they fix a few problems (mainly intonation within the hornline, more fluid guard movement) it's theirs to win, nothing against the others, some very good shows. If you look at the past few years the show design has pushed corps to higher levels. 2013 is a good example, Blue Devils had a better corp than crown but their show was terrible and didn't connect with the fans, last year BC wasn't as clean as Cadets or Santa Clara but show design drove them past those 2 for the silver, you'll see the same thing this year imho.
  13. Yeah, I won't see them live until july 26th, TOC show in Winston Salem. I'm planning on just watching the scores and following on youtube. Should have a good idea on who's who by then.
  14. I'm a fan of all corps, my favorite drum corps over the years has been the Blue Devils and Phantom. Even though I'm a Bluecoats alum I call them as I see them. Every year different corps do different things that I like or maybe don't like, such is life :) I live near Crowns hometown, watch their practices and cheer for them, they have a great show this year...they need an ending, my opinion ofcourse.
  15. I'm not sure Crown has the difficulty to win this year and the end of the show is a complete letdown, brass is spectacular as usual. I love the show until the end, seems like they either ran out of time or ideas...I don't know.
  16. I've been watching drum corps since the late seventies, marched with the Bluecoats in the early eighties, this is by far the best drum corps show since Star in 93. I'm not saying their going to win, it's early, but this show has everything needed to be the crowd favorite and can score high enough to be champs. I'm not sure Crown has the difficulty to win, I like the show but it's a letdown at the end. Cadets show just doesn't seem to fit together, they perform it well now but look for a meltdown during the later part of season. I haven't seen BD live yet, but have watched it on youtube, looks typical BD to me so i'll save my remarks until july 26th in Winston Salem when I get a chance to see them live.
