Bloo has had a couple days to practice, hope they grew some points :)

How close are we to getting scores?

Yeah, severals runs they were crowding have been cleaned up, battery still has some dirty snare and tenor stuff, but I think that will clean up over time. Still behind and not working on the smaller details like some other perc sections.

Maybe, but last night in Lexington I noticed a big improvement in Bloo's pit (the biggest offender in perc scoring). Might have worked something out.

Just for the record, I like Crown, they are my second favorite corps.....behind the coats :)

LOL, sorry, but I noticed it early in the season. Crown's perc is good, but I thought that might hurt them later in the season.

Vids of the Lex SC show makes me more hopeful on Bloo's percussion, pit was much tighter than I had seen so far.

People keep mentioning Crowns drumline in '13 being 6th and the corp still winning the title, several things contributed to that may not apply this year. 1) BD had a hideous show were they bastardized the Rite of Spring fusing jazz into what is considered the piece that brought modern expressionism to the orchestra, if they would have played JUST the Rite of Spring....they would have won. 2) Cadets had a good show but had phasing problems all year with the Barber piece and their guard wasn't very good. Crown had a great hornline and guard coupled with High GE scores pushed them to 1st place. Bloo may not have the best hornline or guard, they are both very good and should be close to top if they aren't the best scoring in those captions, but is that enough. I would think that placing 2nd or third in those captions but still scoring very close to the top performers in those captions keeps Bloo in the running, providing they sweep GE and visual captions.

Best: Bluecoats, only because they fit their show so well. Worst: Crown, just plain hideous. There seems to be a trend towards ugly uniforms the last few years, I can't say I truely like any corps look this year. I thought Crown had a good look last year and Bloo looks pretty good this year. Corps' uniform designers need to do some soul searching for some better looks in the future.

In just ten days we will start seeing head-to-head matches, then we'll get a much better picture.

Yeah, that opener is packed with "just plain hard" will be awesome if this keeps up in august.

I'm old enough to say this with some personal experince.....The Cadets put the art in marching arts, just go back to pre '83 and watch, then watch the Cadets any year after.

I think Cadets have a pretty good design team. I didn't like last years show that much but it was artistic and well conceived, very difficult to pull off. This years show is good, just need more talent.
