  1. I have to disagree, Fred didn’t have to deal with all the mixing and fixing and layering and flavoring, its just my gut feeling, but I think those two were more purist and more dedicated to the possibilities of the instrument itself. Just one band dads opinion.
  2. At Atlanta, there was a scheduled intermission early in the show, the wife allowed me to get a beer, as long as I got her an ice cream. Brusters had cones and cups, the wife prefers the cone, so I preceded to get my beer then, Hopsicutioner from Teripin, ummm. I then proceed to the isle to return to my seat, but the Scouts has taken the field, while I nursed my cold beer I tried to fend off the melting chocolate scoop and maintain its position in the cone, while being judged by my piers for eating ice cream while drinking a beer. All of this because I tried to avoid creating a hot dog Corps, so my advice to anyone to avoid the hot dogCorps.... get the cup !!!!

  7. oh, that explains why a Corps that puts me to sleep every time is doing so well....... just like Nascar
  8. Maybe this technology can be made available to all competing Corps thru DCI and the manufacturers, so everyone is on a level field, and money doesn't buy the Gold.
  9. OK.... I haven't read every page of this discussion, but I would like to throw in my two cents. I was at a competition earlier this year, and one Corps came out and just blew everyone away as far as volume, very impressive, but when I tried to focus in on what I was hearing, I didn't know where to look, because the sound was coming from speakers and not just the performers. At a later event, during the earlier Corps that didn't have the funding of the upper Corps, I noticed I could tell where the sounds were coming from, and although they didn't blow me out of my seat, the texture and tone were quite beautiful !! I believe the adjudicators should reward these performers and help solve the funding war.
  10. Just don’t loose your Madison swagger, and you’ll be fine Scouts. Thanks for the great show
