  1. Here: http://bvp.stores.yahoo.net/dcaordering.html
  2. Most DCI kids come back with a mind set and the experience of learning 200+ sets quickly and efficiently. Learning a DCA drill of max 100 sets in a day or 2 isn't a big deal at all, and the music is really an after thought. As long as they fill a hole in the drill and play the big impacts, it's all good. I have never seen a DCI kid "hurting" a corps for arriving mid season. Only benefits. If a corps gets 2 or 3 members back from DCI, I think it's fine. More than 5, depending of the section, starts to be a little unfair. But who is counting, anyway?
  3. oh if you guys just knew what "tetons" stands for in French (slang French, that is) .....
  4. *ahem* Hey, trombone guy, DCA is NOT stuck in the 70s. That's all. Carry on.
  5. What's a "vinyl collection" ? Just kiddin OK sorry Mike, back on topic...
  6. a smart business will make the decisions that is best for them, period. That MIGHT turn some people away, but as long as a majority of "clients" go with it, they are good. A business can't please everybody, if they tried they would certainly shoot themselves in the foot a lot faster. Seems to me people wanting to walk away have this idea that if THEY feel that way, it must mean that hundreds of other people feels that way, and it MUST mean that this will hurt DCI eventually. I don't think there is THAT many people turning away from DCI as people make it to be. That's all I'm saying.
  7. Well, duh. My point was, they are doing well regardless of people's threats to leave the activity. So either some people aren't really leaving, OR they have enough new fans coming in the door to make up for the "losses".
  8. lol! Right. Because GM's management is totally comparable to DCI's. OK
  9. You certainly are entitled to your opinion. But really, I don't think DCI cares the least bit about the money they are not getting from you older fan, because I'm pretty sure that for every one person who decides to actually turn their back on the activity (some say they are, but are still around anyway spending and whining about it... you know?) there are at least 3 or 4 more parents/family members/friends of rookie marching kids willing to spend whatever is necessary these days. Some people have been saying that DCI corps will be "playing for empty seats pretty soon" since the first corps bought a Bb brass line (2000 was it?) and finals night stadiums seems pretty #### full to me, every year. My point is, it's OK if you don't want to give your money to DCI anymore, just don't expect anyone to care. Older fans goes, newer fans comes. That's how life is.
  10. Hey I'd buy one. lol To bucmellow: Are the 4 corps doing more difficult shows execute it just as well as Blue Devils execute their show? A more demanding show only pays off with the judges if the members can perform the hell out of it, from what I have seen. Sometimes, easier wins. For the record, I've only seen BD once on the Fan Network so I can't even agree if their show is actually easier or not...
  11. I just turned 30! I definitely "have a life" (since I'm about 23, actually), I always hated (and always will) sleeping on a floor, I definitely DO NOT want to relive my youth, I do have the funds to have fun and enjoys just being a fan, OR some years actually marching in DCA. Drum Corps will always be in my life, that's for sure! I'm planning on being 30 for a very, very long time, too... hahaha To the OP: I don't think DCP'ers are in majority highschoolers, BUT a lot of DCP'ers sure ACTS like immature kids!
  12. I went back and checked (yes because I'm that bored, again). I think he is refering the post # 39 when you say "it's 43 now"
  13. Relax Jim, I understood why you wrote what you did, because the title is wrong. Anyhow, I have a request that might be a bit off topic, but here it goes anyway: WILL SOMEONE BEAT THEM ALREADY!!! (of course I feel obligated to mention that my comment is only in good fun, don't get all defensive and logical on me, I don't care)
  14. Well, some waists are higher than others... *ahem* We had a baby contra like that too, actually I played in a parade with one in 1994, and I have a picture of that. I'll go dig into my boxes and I'll post it. Almost looks like an euphonium resting on the shoulder... haha
  15. I think it has more to do with proper staging than actual drill forms.
  16. Olds Ultratone, I'm 99% certain. I need to find my picture albums though. They are in a box somewhere...
  17. The last minute of the second piece of SCV's show in 1999. That lowbrass line was unreal! Combined with all that power and intensity the members threw in there, it made it my best minute of drum corps ever. The opener of that show is the close second best.
  18. This went completely off topic, but I love your stories.
  19. I voted: brass: MBI Drum: Hurcs Guard: Bush Just to be different
