Let me just say blue Stars, your lead trumpets are WONDERFUL!!!! Very mature sound from the hornline all around!

Very well done crossmen. Some phasing issues but when that hornline got it right.... Boy did they get it right! Didn't like the props in the first half of the show, but starting in the ballad and after I thought they made great use of them.

Am I the only one who thought the audio was too quiet? Quality was great, just not loud enough.

Cavies look great visually, guard is off to a good start despite the wind. Honestly I was definitely more impressed with blue Stars brass then I was the Cavies, needs A LOT of work there imo. Edit: I thought the electronic tuba was pretty awesome. Looking forward to hearing some more of that!

I'm definitely impressed with the audio quality, just wish it was a bit louder!!

There is absolutely prediction bias. I'm guilty of it every year when I say Crown will win it all lol. If I use my head and not my bias I would say BD, Bluecoats, SCV have the best shot at vying for medal positions. I also am only basing this off what I've read here on DCP throughout the off season. I've avoided seeing any videos so far and I'm hoping to keep it that way until I see some of these groups live next Thursday. So honestly I have absolutely no clue what will happen. Edit: btw I'll never hide behind my username. If you're ever at the same show as me say hi!!

I don't think I'm taking it too seriously, just staying that I don't realistically see it happening. If it does then that's great for Boston and I'll be very happy for them!! While placements do matter, in the end I just want to be entertained. Most years the winning show isn't my favorite show :)

I agree with you 100%. There were a couple people just before I posted putting Boston ahead of Crown, Cavies, and Cadets. Internal strife / design misses can most certainly lead to a drop in placement as we've seen happen before. However even if the show design is a complete whiff, I still feel they have way too much talent to drop them any lower than 4th or 5th. As an obvious Crown home I really hope that doesn't happen lol. As a huge fan of DCI all around though, I would absolutely love to see Boston, a corps with a long standing tradition of excellence, start making a run to the top. I love to see variety at the top, to see a new corps make finals for the first time, or win it all for the first time is always a great event to witness. So good luck to ALL the corps this season! I'm looking forward to the start of the most exciting and hopefully competitive season to date!

Man people are really hyping Boston and counting out Crown. I think Boston sees an improvement this year but not enough to pass the likes of crown, Cavies, or cadets. Yeah crown is going through a lot of staff changes, but there's still too much talent there to drop them that far imo. We'll see what happens though.

At finals I'll be sitting in the crown block! I'll wave from there lol.

I kinda like the guard unis. Not sure about the rest. I'll reserve my judgement until I see the show next week.
