Wow, awesome show Brass!

Noooooooooo not the kittens! :o

When I turned on my TV yesterday after work, our local CBS channel was covering the colapse. My first thought was Sh--t it's Wednesday night. All I could think of was how many MBI'rs were on their way to practice. I traveled that stretch so many times in my 7 years living in that area. Most of the time it was because of MBI practice. It's always amazing what some people will create in their minds! Thanks for being a friend! Hmmm... We never did get to stand on the DM line together.

There are a lot of good and bad memories from the past years. The most important good memory, is all the wonderful people I got to meet throughout California. Retirement has been wonderful this year, but I miss you all!

Yes, the 2007 season is here! Here's the schedule for the next couple of months! But who is voting for that award? Not the staff and the members. The ones voting for the award at the show are only voting for what they can observe at that moment. They don't see what that DM has been doing all the rest of year. I have met several DM's that have deserved an award at DCA, but lost to other DM's because of the showmanship part.

Some of DCA DM's tend to have more showmanship in them than DCI DM's, but I can't say any of the above is the most important. You need a mix of some of the above and then some extras not listed (including, but not limited to dependability, flexibility, liason between the corps and the audience/fans/potential members/other corps, etc.)

I actually have a Donny Osmond CD "This Is The Moment" of Broadway tunes. And he's still a cutie! Knowing Chops, whatever they choose will be fun and entertaining! Go Chops!
