I would say that it was not.

The suspicion from various sources close to the corps was that the show was expected to be a momentum boost for the corps to move them out of the 4-6th place grouping. After a certainly new class of marchers and uncertain competitive and cultural outlook, the show was likely scrapped for future use. All the musical choices in 2020 were never played by a corps before until this year. My guess is that the show will never see the light of day since these selections have now been used.

Nope, however 2 musical selections of their show in 2020 were played by the gold medalist and one of the silver medalists. That is all I will share.

I believe the Cavaliers have always been limited by their design when trying to reclaim their status as one of the best. Not only could you blame this but the unfortunate circumstances of having 80 ageouts in 2021. Lets also consider that almost 120 vets were returning from 2019 into 2020. From what I heard, the idea instilled by their instructional staff was to have a “3 year program” starting in 2018 that could place them back into medal contention which was shaken up by the pandemic. I will add the show/musical selections they were cooking up in 2020 was one that would have definitely garnered them a spot in the top 3 but of course, take that with a grain of salt.

1. Crown 2. Cavaliers 3. BD 4. Bluecoats 5. Boston 6. SCV 7. Bluestars 8. Phantom 9. Cadets 10. Blue Knights 11. Mandarins 12. Madison Top 3 have best GE with regards to show design. Just a matter of execution from the captions. The best thing about Bluecoats is the keytar set. Besides that it just seems like people are confusing their convoluted show design for greatness because it actually makes no sense. Boston’s brass and guard are carrying the show but the design isnt that interesting - SCV is weaker all across the board. Phantom and Madison are definitely some groups that can cause some shake ups! NOTE: just my opinion👍🏻

FMM here. As someone who knows the members closely - the exclusion of the closer was intentional for the premiere. It *should* be on this weekend.
