  1. Sure hope so because I like PC and want them to be successful. Nothing has captured me yet though… brass was okay this year, programming and visual was ok. Maybe a more solid perc will give them more life. As I said, I really hope to be proven wrong…
  2. Buy: Troop: I think they only get better from here on out Columbians: (I know OC but eh) I truly think they are the next great Open Class Corps. Always wanted to see them in Indy and glad I got the chance. They will most definitely be recruiting more members next year! Spirit of Atlanta- I had my doubts and was so glad to be proven wrong… they will be on the up and up I think Carolina Crown- I seriously believe in this groups ability to gold medal and will be looking forward to next year’s production. Hold: Mandarins- I already bought into the hype last year. I truly believe they have potential to go the distance Phantom and Cadets- Two equally safe bets to be finalist but not compete for a medal… Madison- I really do think that with better programming they’d be up a couple spots. Perhaps it’s alumni bias but I truly believe the Scouts are a better group musically than some around them. Sell: Blue Knights- If Crossmen had not stumbled out of the gate they would not have been in the top 12 this year. As simple as that. I don’t believe they’ll improve much either… Boston Crusaders- I love Boston but their window for a gold medal is closing I can feel it in my bones… PC- I know, I know it doesn’t make sense to me either however something in my brain makes me feel like they are a fad, and simply just not as good as their being scored. I think they crash back to the late teen tier in the next couple years. I welcome being proven wrong!
  3. If you know a guy I’d love to see the Indy recording of 2015 Racine Scouts. I’m feeling a bit nostalgic…
  4. Yeah people are just extremely overreactive. Madison is in a good position and generally has decent talent (contrary to popular belief…) I think in the recent years and even at the end of the Mason era 2014, 2015ish their show design has just lagged heavily behind more upward trending groups. People believe their fall is a momentous occasion, and that surly Madison is about to drop out of World Class and that Komnick is the devil… blah, blah, blah. Give the kid’s a good show with a good theme and I see an easy two spot increase at minimum. Madison still has more musical ability than some of the corps around them, just need the right show to flex it.
  5. Oh god! Oh no! Not another way too early Scouts thread…. aren’t you all still busy yelling at clouds in the 2023 thread?
  6. I really do like the shimmering gem effect that the percussion produces in this show. Also in general the ambiance of this show is extremely nice. It’s going to be a really tight race for 12th…
  7. Ah…Crossmen. This show has definitely improved a lot and I believe this corps has a lot of potential to challenge their upward neighbors. That being said I don’t think this is the year…Good show Crossmen!
  8. Crossmen I demand you in the nicest way possible TO BRING THIS FRIKEN HOUSE DOWN!!! Give us that top 12 run!
  9. I don’t know why exactly but this does not feel like the run for PC. Everything was clean and good. Some great brass hits but I can’t help longing for something more.
  10. Part of me almost wants them to but those kids from Spirit fought through that issue wonderfully. And with how integral electronics are the modern DCI shows that’s no easy feat. As a judge I would respect that… but we’ll see.
  11. And that ladies in gentlemen is how you fight through adversity… absolutely incredible and I think issues actually lit a fire under the members on the field. I wish you many successful year to come Spirit.
  12. I know it’s not time but I’m really looking forward to the battle for 12th today. With that said “let’s go Spirit!”
  13. This is by far the best Madison offering in a bit from a musical and programming stand point. I think the small ensemble moments of the show are utilized really well and are much better handled than previous small ensemble moments in other corps. Brass is great, and the percussion are throwing down. My one small critique is that the the energy today seemed lower than yesterday… but that’s small apples. Great job Madison you make this Alumni proud.
  14. I really love how Music City uses their drill to consistently convey the theme. That being said I think they’ll score under Academy today…
  15. Amazing show Spartans. I remember the last year I watched you all was your 2019 championship run. And I think this show absolutely blows that one out of the water.
  16. Yeah, I personally believe it deserves to be competing more closely with Music City, Academy, and Madison than it currently is.
  17. Gonna but this out here before the show even begins, Spartan’s guitar and bass players are absolute monsters. That is all.
  18. This is a much stronger run than last night! Seems like more of the big moments are clicking.
  19. While I do think Genesis sacrifices some musical clarity for an enhanced visual program. I gotta say their drill has some real wow moments and the Firebird motif is much appreciated. Excellent job Genesis!
  20. Genesis is the first corps of the night to give you some real wow moments with their drill. Let’s go!
