  1. Kaboom, Thanks for the acknowledgement of the "shafting" in 1978. That truly is one of the few painful memories of my years in corps. If I recall, we had to wait til near the very end of prelims to hear them annouce the Kilties score, and needless to say, there was a lot of shock, anger and sadness (in the Freelancers. I'm sure the Kilties were exuberant). And don't get me wrong, the Kilties were one of my favorite classic corps, but we hadn't expected them to beat us out of the 12th spot! It's amazing how one performance can change everything. I even took 1979 off since this left me drained. Oh well, good thing I'm over it after all these years (right!). And one last comment - I sure wish there were DVDs for the non-finalist corps from those years. Sure would be nice to see the show again.
  2. For me, I wish I had marched the last 2 years I was eligible. But college was consuming my time and felt I needed to focus on that. To think, I could have marched BD in 81 and 82 (especially 82!). Another championship ring and and to be able to play that One More Time piece! That was H-O-T.
  3. 2 More: North Star and Marksmen (Seattle). Not much history on the Marksmen on corpsrep.com but I remember seeing them on tour in the mid-70's and really loved their show. Reminding me a little of 27th.
