  2. Bring it to the Northwest baby! Seattle for me. ooh, Boise and Denver will get good shows...yay!
  3. No. Doesn't this kind of nullify the use of real scores?
  4. Yes. I was quite frustrated at the lack of knowing how I stacked up last year.
  5. No, if we already do a Murfreesboro...like...thing...and we then have another championships show, this is getting too much. Let's just get on with the already cluttered season.
  6. Yes. It doesn't matter until we all get together anyways. EDIT: No, I'm not saying that because my corps placed low last year. We still won LOTS of captions.
  7. I vote yes. Mainly because they do not use the same numbers we do. (i mean, captions....whatever, it's just too complicated)
  8. (note: sorry for my editing, the show concept is kind of a work in progress) The White Stars, a new Division I corps under the banner of Blue Angels Youth Music Association (BAYMA) has gotten their season underway with some very successful camps and out show design is coming along very nicely. Without furder ado, the White Stars would like to present their 2005 program: AMERICAN IN HEART, WORLDLY IN SPIRIT The music of Randall Thompson's 2nd symphony "Ira Randall Thompson was born in New York City, April 21, 1899, and died in Boston, July 9, 1984. The son of an English teacher, Randall never strayed far from the academic environment. His early musical pursuits began at an old reed organ on the family summer farm in Vienna, Maine. His first attempts at composition began around 1915 with a piano sonata and a Christmas partsong. In 1916 he entered Harvard University he auditioned for the chorus but was turned down by its conductor, Archibald T. Davison, who eventually became his mentor. Thompson later mused, "My life has been an attempt to strike back."" "An attempt to strike back" is just what we hope to portray. The music of Randall Thompson is driving, exciting, and maybe just a little wacky at times, and we plan to use that to our advantage. Our show will focus on America at the turn of the century. We will highlight the changes the country went through during this time period as a young country grew from the isolationism of the late 1800's to a world power within 50 years; from newly reaching and exploring our new boundaries, to reaching out and affecting world affairs. Our story will portray life in New York City at this time, where the world cultures mix together to form a wonderful and vibrant life, much like that of the famous book "The Great Gatsby". The White Stars will draw our audiences with a subtle mix "In your face!" with "Now that's beautiful!" We can't wait to perform our first product for audiences. ----------------------------------- BAYMA is the parent organization for both the Blue Angels and the White Stars. Working together as a team, we hope to bring world-class drum corps to the Intermountain West. BAYMA is a member of the FANFARE organization.
