  1. I've known Bruce since 2002. I have never known him to be anything but kind, loving, passionate, fair, and above all else... genuine. We had times when we disagreed, but far more times when he'd give me a strong hand shake and pat on the back. Anything he ever did was done out of a unique and tireless desire to be truly magnificent, as a person, a teacher, a counselor, a leader, a drum corps guy, a friend, and on and on. It saddens me that I may never get to tell him in this life that, even though our last year working together was somewhat strained, I never lost respect for him, that I always understood where he was coming from and what he was trying to do, and that I always longed for those strong hand shakes. Its terrible to lose a gentleman like Bruce this way, long before its really time, and to a wicked disease that seems to grow more wicked by the minute. Please join me, I will being praying in my own way tonight, and hope that my thoughts reach him and ease his path towards wherever his journey may be taking him. Once a Brigadier, always a Brigadier. That always meant something, and now, it means just a little bit more. God speed Bruce. We love you. Cp
  2. Please note***** We'll also have aspirin available to take care of those New Year's hangovers... :-) Hope to see a nice turnout on Jan. 3-4 folks! Cp

  5. No breaks dude. And the book wasn't that easy... but the snareline might have made it looks that way. :-)

  8. Winter Consultant? I guess that means: being at all the winter camps except 2 and finishing the season after DCI is done. Haha Alright Matt Bauer, congratulations on your promotion onto the instructional team. One talented guy. And welcome back Rob Thatcher, Sean McReady AND Tim Greene, can't wait to work with you! Looks good fellas! Now we need some nice shiny new drums... :-) C
  9. Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I don't want to start a thread. LOL
  10. Jersey Surf has made some staff announcements on their website: www.jerseysurf.org
  11. I will be around Bush when time allows, as much as possible this winter /spring / summer. I look forward to continuing the great work we started last season and contributing to the establishment (or reestablishment) of The Bushwackers as a premier percussion section in DCA! Come on out and bring your chops! Cp
  12. This is big news for Bushwackers. Anyone who saw the drumline last year and was impressed can rest assured that a good many of those folks are returning for this season. we are committed to fielding the best percussion section we can... SO... We are looking for other like minded members to join... please check out the Bush Open House. The continuity and excellence of Bob Ciz's battery arrangements now coupled with the expertise of Mike Nevin as the front ensemble arranger promises only great stuff in store for the 2009 percussion section. Don't be shy folks... if you're interested, head over to http://www.bushwackers.org and sign up. Look forward to seeing a lot of guys and gals with some chops! :-)
  13. Tekk, how could you not know much about Colin... you were there at Crossmen in 98 weren't you? Colin not only was on tour that entire summer with us, but he wrote the majority of the opener.
  14. As for Bush... I wasn't talking the talk, I was being playful. I was out there marching this past season, making my actions speak louder than words. When was the last time you marched Jeff? I'm not sure what your last line means... PM if you must to clarify.
  15. Donny, Glenn: Word up! Donny, you know I love you and respect you, and Glenn... what can I say ;-) Kay, and Everyone else... back to your topic on this thread. I don't want to steer it off course anymore. Fair enough. Oh, but Glenn, I didn't say "man for man"... I said "pound for pound" We ATE really well at Brigs :-) Us fat arses. Hahahha Cooler in the parking lot... mmmmmmm, as long as you are watching the Bush drumline :-)
  16. Jeff, I know.. you're absolutely right. I don't disagree that were some fantastic groups in other eras of DCA. I just hate how people are still Brigs bashers/ haters because they resent what that whole time period was turned into. Money or not, it doesn't diminish talent, and that was my point. Some people will not let that be the focus. But you know me, I am just stirring the pot. And Dale is right, other people chose to try to stifle my commentary, in the name of whatever, instead of letting it be what it was... my opinion. But its all good... those who really know me know that I know what's up, and yea, I do know not only my DCA history, but my drum corps history. And I love drum corps for what it was, not what its become. I honestly think 2002 was better than 2001, and 2003 was a better corps than 2002... but I taught Brigs in 2003, I marched in 2002... Stirring again: Brigs should have won in 2003, at least High Percussion, but probably the whole thing. Be easy people. Oh, and just to stir a little more... keep an eye out for 2009 Bushwackers. They just might be the next DCA champions. :-)
  17. Donny: I wasn't bought and paid for in 2002. Neither were my friends who stood next to me in the snareline. Kay: "Don't respond" wasn't a command but rather a suggestion, so be it. You didn't have to mention Cabs... it was understood. And yes, my opinion is usually pretty much the truth, whether you like it or not. Capital letters don't make you any more correct than I. Dale et al: Yes I know this wasn't the thread for single season but I chose to interpret it that way, again, so be it. I will not in the future. Glenn: Um... eh, whatever... you know me, and I don't need to be corrected, I just don't care for the "all-time" cumulative stuff. I wasn't talking about pride in personal accomplishments either... I was just speaking facts. Regardless of how the individuals got there, it was still, and I'll use the old IMO, the most talented collection of people in a single DCA group of (yes) all time. 98.6% of all time. DCP faithful: no trolling here, just decided to type a post to something I read. Haven't really been on here much, so keep the "troll" comments out of it. Most everyone knows who I am anyway, and I just shoot straight... and yes, I inject a little bit of controversy. Deal. Its ok to rub people the wrong way sometimes. Continue with your little thread... I'm done. But I've have fun :-)
  18. Congratulations Chris! This is exciting news for The Bushwackers... And a great step forward in a new direction, one I hope will bring lots of old time Bush Alumni who love this drum corps out of the woodwork and back onto the field in whatever capacity they might be able to be in... marching members, staffers, volunteers, etc... Looking forward to the first camp... Chris
  19. Kay, The answer to your question is... absolutely. The truth is usually something people don't want to hear. Hehe :-) Don't respond... it isn't important. I'm not going to argue... Cabs are great, bell bottom, silk shirts, sombreros and all... Back to your regularly schedule DCA banter. because there is a way to TRULY measure such a statement.................
  20. Greatest show... NO. Greatest collection of people in a single season at one corps in DCA. Therefore, the greatest CORPS. I am not talking in terms of "over the years" like this thread may be... but in a single season, pound for pound talent and ability in DCA, 2002 Brigs are it. Trust me, I was there. :-)
  21. I don't get all these formulas for all this stuff... all I know is the the greatest DCA corps of all time was: The 2002 Syracuse Brigadiers. Flame away... :-) C
