  1. Lol! That was the 1999 Cavaliers guard mocking the battery "dutting" as a humorous effect written into the design of the show! Not the audience mimicking them. That's pretty funny. I wonder if I have had any accidental misconceptions listening to drum corps shows that I didn't see? (Not that you didn't see the 1999 Cavaliers, I don't know)
  2. I'm not sure who the smallest all time was. The smallest corps I ever saw at DCI was the Royal Cadets from somewhere in Massachusetts. They had two percussion (a snare and a bass) and, I think, four horns ( two sops, two baris?) in 1997 division III prelims. They were the smallest corps I remember seeing. The Marion Cadets marched five or six brass in both 1996 and 1997 but did not attend DCI in 1997. I think they usually had three or four guard and a percussion section that was big enough to make balancing with the horns a challenge! Those Marion groups were fun to watch and listen to!
  3. Third time is the charm: 1995 Cavaliers drill was written by Greg Poklacki Unfortunately the great Steve Brubaker had passed away in 1993. Mike Gaines was the color guard caption head in 1995.
  4. It didn't listen to the Field Pass but.... Maybe he said Mahler's Ninth. Or could it be part of Mahler's Seventh sometimes called Song of the Night?
