  1. I'd be very curious as to the attendance. Even during the opening ceremonies the line was at least 3 deep for two blocks. That's a lot of people. I think the cheap seats were even packed. Hard to beat Vet's stadium for this venue.
  2. 76 ###-kickin' Brass..32 percussion. Parade M&M to die for. Many haven't performed in years. They never forgot the meaning of "Performance Level". TBIRDS ROCKED !!!
  3. Media day today...gotta put on my T.V. face. Just sayin.......
  4. Energizer Bunny move over...TBIRD ALL STARS in the House. Just sayin....
  5. Thanks for the good luck. When PCP first came out, forget the year, I think it was at Serenade in Brass. Met an old time (teen ager) who flew in from Arizona or Utah...not sure. Been a TBIRD since 1958 and looking forward to seeing people I haven't seen for almost 45 years. One guy is coming in from Seoul South Korea (assuming he's flying). Hope I can march (and play) the 1.5 mile parade. DCA Fan Network will be taping this live and streaming it to subscribers. Gotta go....my dog wants out. Cya
  6. Understand what you're saying. TBIRDS started an Alumni Corps' late 1991 early 1992 and continued, basically, thru 2011...roughly 19 years including 6 MiniCorps' titles. I think we are or have been experiencing "Burn-Out". Same people all the time for all those years and really nowhere to draw replacements from. H.S. bands in the city of Erie are pretty much non-existant. County...not much better. I guess it's a cyclical thing. The TBIRD All Star performance May 25th may generate new interest. One can only hope.
  7. AGREE. GREAT problem to have. To bad it's only for one day. 80+ brass..34 perc...15 guard.
  8. And yesterdays turnout was roughly half of the proposed horn line. We've created a monster.
  9. Rudimental drumming will be provided by the host Corps'. Single sticking will be accidental.
  10. Pretty awesome when you need a ballroom just for the horn line. Next option would be the Armory in Teaneck, N.J.
  11. Looks like we're stuck with 84 Brass...33 percussion...15 guard...2 DM'S. Bummer.
  12. Anyone coming to Erie the weekend of May 25th may want to consider booking a room NOW if you're planning on staying. There is a huge soccer tourney the same weekend. Rooms fill up fast. Just sayin.....
  13. Soccer tournement in Erie the same weekend. Hotel rooms may be at a premium. Book a room now if you're coming to Erie.
  14. Update: 4.12.13 Committments from 84 Brass 33 Perc. 6 Honor Guard.
  15. It's only tuesday and my hearing is already returning.
  16. That is so Cool. Now...Denny Rozumalski...that'd be great. (2 outta 3 wouldn't be bad though)
  17. Make that 76 Brass. Former Meadville/Erie Thunderbird sop. Soloist, President of the Blue Knights from Denver, Colo. has commited to this All Star performance. Just sayin....
  18. Up to 73 and 34. Probably won't happen but...sure sounds good doesn't it ? I'd be happy with half of that. Although we did have 35 brass 1st rehearsal. April 7th will sure tell a lot.
  19. Hope it's 72. Would defenitly suck to be that one guy in the back. Just sayin..........
  20. 72 and 32. Believe it when I see it. 12 mello's 9 contra's ? Buncha sops and baris and stuff. 12 snares and their other stuff like tenors and whatever. Hope so.
