Star was Star, and Crown is Crown. It's comparisons like this that really fuel my temper. It's comparisons like this that take away whatever individual identity a corps has. I'm so sick of corps being compared to this and that. Why can't people just enjoy an organization for who they are as opposed to whom they think that they are? No wonder why so many drum corps try to emulate the top 5. Too much staff swapping, no individuality. All the corps march the same, while a lot of them sound the same. Listen folks, I'm showing some age here; but when I marched corps were known for who THEY were and not WHOM they were like. Let's appreciate Crown for who they are and the great things that they are doing, and not how much like a former, now deceased, corps that they may be compared to.

What potential impact would this have on Impulse? This story sounds somewhat familiar to the Suncoast Sound and Magic (of Orlando) situation of 1990. I know that Impulse fired up after the Velvet Knights went under, and have somewhat taken on the VK style. Thoughts folks, these are just thoughts.

I'd like to extend a congrats to all the Div II & III corps from this past summer. The size of the corps and dedication to their respective programs was well noted! Although there were a handful of groups that were, sadly, not active this past year; it should be mentioned that Div II & III was alive and kicking! Great job to all the corps! No matter what Division your corps is in for 2006, stick with your organization and help it to continue on with individual success!

Alright, enough is enough on my behalf. Over and out. I've had my tremendous amount of fun putting Johnny Boy in his place. I'm border line vicious now. I'm officially cutting myself from this thread. If ol' Hater John gets outta line, it's now up to you all to keep him in check! Yaaaaaaaawn n' stretch.

On a serious note, you really should try being more like your brother. You could learn a lot from him. I've long held a deep respect for Mike. At least he doesn't have an ego and feel it necessary to bash other groups for his own twisted humor. But hey there son, keep it coming. It's the lowly and the weak egomeisters, like you, that I enjoy knocking down to the size they really are!

Threads like this are sooooo much fun. My thoughts on the parade: Blue Stars Alumni Corps: fantastic! Tremendous Blast: fantastic! Marching Chiefs Alumni Corps: fantastic! Seeing Hater John run around before the parade, constantly looking over his shoulder, like a scared chicken: F***ing Priceless! Dear, dear, dear...poor Johnny boy having his ego deflated again? Oooooo, don't feel bad! You'll have more parties at Pioneerland to prance about and show off for no other reason than to just prance around! I'll grant you this poor little Johnny boy, you do have a kick a** bar. P.S. I never really thought very highly of you Johnny Boy, that's why this thread is even sweeter. Later kiddo!

bscontra, when did you guys hit up WC's? I walked there after the parade and the bar was bare. I then proceeded to walk all the way back to the north side. Needless to say, I felt little pain walking that distance from WC's to my house with my shine on! All good, there will be other occasions! Keep me informed of what we talked about! Hey Johnny Boy...you out there buddy? I thought is was rather amusing how you were walking around before the parade with your tail between your legs! , , ! To the rest of Tremendous Blast, you all were truely tremendous! Glad to have you at the Fest! See you all again next year. There used to be this wonderful thing called "The Top 25." Back in the day, if your corps placed 25th, that was a big deal! Sadly, just making the Top 12 isn't good enough anymore. All the attention is on the Top 5 and how to emulate them. Man, how I miss the days when there were many huge open class (Div I) corps with their own identity all doing their own thing. But in this age of "corps hopping," it's near impossible to have that amount of large corps anymore. Regardless of what ECJ and BS choose to do with their status, it's my hope that they stay true to themselves and not attempt to be that in which they are not. Individuality does not go unrecognized!
