I said in the very first hours after the initial story broke that this would wind up getting investigated at the criminal level. When I saw certain comments NOT being eliminated from Hopkins FB wall I knew he was under Attorneys orders NOT to delete anything as it would be viewed as a sign of obstruction of justice . You would be surprised at how many people really don't give a rats rear about the activity anymore and just don't comment on it.

Each state has its own set of laws on interpreting theft. In the state of Tn it would be considered a Breach of Trust and would fall under Civil Courts. YEA would have to sue to get the car back. They would also be potentially on the hook for any liability for any wrecks that GH could have while driving the vehicle if they were named in a lawsuit. Depending on the laws in that state GH could basically ride it into the ground and return it with normal wear and tear and they could have no recourse in the matter.

I can't imagine a huge revolt. I know Guard and Drum folks are a bit Cliques though and march to a different beat. So its anyones guess.

I feel for her. But I could not imagine her staying there. If for no other reason the constant sneers and looks she would get at every competition. It would be a huge distraction in the warm up areas people coming by and pointing fingers saying that's Hops Girlfriend.

IN a nutshell he basically tried to put the same spin on it that some people have tried to put on it here that he is being framed by The Cadets Alumni that wanted GH out and it was all a lie. He said he had proof that at least one of the women was lying about it. I thought for a second that maybe this guy was some sort of paid person by Hopkins media or something to proactive to rally for his public imagine but we have a lot of good friends and common and by all accounts he appears to be a stand up guy. I think he is just a GH supporter that believes what he strongly believes in. I won't slight a man that has strong beliefs even if I don't agree with him.

If you go on the "about" page of DCI is says towards the bottom of the page. Mutual Care and Respect: DCI treats all with dignity, courtesy, attention, and appreciation; and seeks these traits in others with whom it engages I would think the if DCI is wanting Mutual Care and Respect and seeking those traits in others with whom they are engaging.. that its mission is much deeper than setting a world stage for the marching arts. Its a Age 13-22 Activity for DCI so they do have some responsibility for the youth involved in the activity regardless if they want to say that corps need to police themselves.

I'm sorry. But you get a phone call that GH is having sex with a corps member. Your going to remember it. Its not exactly the same thing as A Caption Head or instructor at a lower scoring Open Class corps had a affair with a corps member. This was George Hopkins. Possibly the most polarizing Director of Drum and Bugle corps ever IMHO.

Of course Katie Couric seemed to get a pass from the public when her video surfaced from early 2000 when she basically said Matt Lauer was a creep . Everyone seemed to know Matt Lauer was a creep and did nothing because of who he was. Ditto on Harvey Weinstein and a equally telling video with Courtney Love warning Young Actresses but that did not seem to hurt their careers.

WEll if these Allegations do turn out to be true GH will be in good company with Harvey Weinstein. Kevin Spacey. Charlie Rose. John Conyers. Roy Moore., Garrison Keillor. And Matt Lauer.

IF GH winds up getting Indicted it will come down to who knew and when they knew. Much like the case of Sandusky. Sean can very well find himself in the same position that Greg Schiano found himself with at the UT Vols. In case you did not follow that debacle. Greg SChiano was offered a job by then Athletic Director John Currie. Reports were that John Currie was on the ground fueled up in a private plane with Greg Schiano with a signed offer in hand ready to head back to Knoxville when word leaked out on campus that Greg Schiano was fixing to be named head Coach. Greg Schiano name was kicked around in the Sandusky case but he was only named in the case as someone who MIGHT have had knowledge of a reported incident when in fact he never did. But that did not keep the students at UT from threatening to burn the school to the ground and ultimately keeping The Chancellor from pulling the plug on the Greg SChiano Hiring costing him a 8 million dollar a year deal for 5 years. You know what I find surprising or should I say NOT so surprising is the alumni that are NOT coming out to support Hopkins saying that he could NOT possibly have done something like what he has been accused of. Where are these Alumni? I haven't seen them.

That would totally suck having a Daughter that dated him then having to face 1000 of angry parents, alumni and students all looking at you with a concerning eye.

IDK I really haven't followed the Summer Bands closely since 2009 other than peeking in on scores at finals weeks. Haven't been to a show since 2009 or even seen a clip I am so disgusted with the direction of the activity on the field. But the scuttlebut on Social Media was at the end of 2016 there was a major upraor about something at The Cadets and GH was scrambling to look for replacements at both Cadets and Cadets2. So it makes one wonder WTF??

It really is hard to believe that if these allegations are true that SOMEONE at The Cadets or YEA had not heard them before and failed to act on them or investigate them. I mean seriously! If there were people running around saying stay away from GH hes a creep , stay away from GH he's that way... then it HAD to have gotten back to the BOD . HAD TO! No if ands or buts about it.
