  1. Unless my math is wrong, the 99-03 'streak' was 46. We won the last 9 competitions entered in 1999, went undefeated in 2000, 2001, 2002 with 10 competitions each year, and won the first 7 competitions entered in 2003. 9+10+10+10+7 = 46
  2. And to further perpetuate the "Iron Man" label, Tom traded in the little sop he was carrying in 2005 for a baritone in 2006 & 2007. (you can pay me later, Tom) ^0^
  3. I'm a little torn on this topic. In theory, I like the idea of each corps playing for the crowd one last time. In practice, it was a little disappointing to win a championship & not make it back to the hotel to celebrate until 2:00am because retreat ran so long. Would a decent compromise be playing ONTO the field for retreat? I cannot remember the "Olympic" style retreat ever going smoothly. Give each corps an allotted time to play (like 1:45 or so) from endzone to endzone across the front of the field in a parade formation, then fall in around the back of the field as the next corps plays themselves on. While this may take more time to execute than the single lap for all corps, it may actually speed up retreat by eliminating some of the "backstage" organization challenges, allow the retreat organizers more time to "correct" positioning when corps are out of order & still give recognition to each of the corps participating. Just one idea...I'm sure there are other ways to reach a compromise...
  4. Barbara is one of my all-time favorite drum corps people. I had such a nice time chatting with her at Wildwood. Sending my hopes & prayers for her recovery. :(
  5. Shawn posted on the message board that all 3 were treated and released by Sunday morning. (Thanks for passing that along, Shawn.)
  6. Kelley's was closed when you posted, but you still may need to wait awhile for a review to be posted. Wildwood weather today: low 80's & sunny with a light, refreshing breeze. (In other words GORGEOUS beach day!) B)
  7. What a weekend!! 2 parades, dress run-through & a fantastic cook-out with the Alumni Corps--how did we fit all that into two days? See y'all at the beach! :P
  8. I have a lot of great memories from the 4 years I marched in the Penn State Blue Band. Any other Nittany Lions on here?
  9. Get it, 3 performance weekend! :P BTW--I looked up the Grand Marshall for this Sunday's Boxing Hall of Fame parade. (In the past they've had Bo Derek, Peaches & Herb, Grandpa Munster.) I didn't recognize the name, but it's the "LET"S GET READY TO RUMBLE" guy...new catchphrase for the weekend? ^0^
  10. :) :) :) Can't wait to meet Ava! (Oh...and it'll be good to see you & Ed again, too... B) ) Drive carefully!
  11. Wish you could've been there, Mary! Take care of yourself & hope to see you, Ed & the little one soon! :)
  12. ^OO^ LOVE the mello book this year! ^OO^ (and I promise to do my best not to break another valve this camp... ^0^ )
  13. Only a couple more days...looking forward to a great camp this weekend!
  14. What he said! There's a lot of good stuff in this book! ^0^ Hope to see y'all in Central Square this weekend.
  15. ^OO^ FINALLY something warm enough for the St. Patrick's Day Parade...
  16. Just wanted to say thanks to y'all for a great weekend! It was great to catch up with old friends & meet some of the new folks. Wish I could make it back for the Friday gig, but the commute is a killer... ^0^
  17. Those of us that are closer to the contras in the horn arc would appreciate if you would refrain from using "smell" and "challenge" in the same sentence...it's just a bad, bad, bad idea! (Remind me to tell you the story about Shawn's tapeworm at the next camp.... ^0^ )
  18. GREAT camp this weekend! :) (Special kudos to April for such a well run mello sectional on Saturday... ^0^ )
  19. Even worse: they had to go to the New Jersey correspondent because there wasn't enough that much snow in Philly at the time...
  20. I'm definitely out of the running...I laughed at the local newscast last night when they sent a "StormTeam" member out to measure the snow depth. 0.4". Yes, that is four tenths of an inch of snow. Unfortunately, it resulted in a 2 hour commute into work today. Is it bad when you cheer for the speedometer to get to double digits? <**> Anyway, looking forward to getting away from this winter wonderland & playing some great charts this weekend! :)
  21. I think Dawn Marie got exempted late last season...Paul looks like the first to audition this year! ^0^ Looks like this weekend could be a great time to play LOUD!! (I thought I heard a rumor somewhere that LOUD was on the schedule sometime during the weekend...) See y'all Saturday~
