  1. Dude...being an member and an age-out of the 2006 season I can honestly say not cool. You can root for your team all you want, but for the love of God man, have some couth when talking about other corps. in reference to what brian tracht is saying, everyone please stop saying Rick Bays AND the BOD. Rick Bays IS the BOD. When you say the former, it makes it sound like there is somewhat of an organization there.....
  2. You're right........We got fed cake and ice cream after the ROCKFORD show.........I know how big of a difference that makes......oh wait.....no it definitley does not. We were still fed horribly.
  3. Madison without a doubt! They have an amazing show and it just keeps getting better ^OO^
  4. I've been checking out the DCI site lately and have seen that on July 16, there will be a show in Kalamazoo, MI. Now last year I marched with a corps that was in the show and it was a big regional and it was done on the campus of Western Michigan University. Does anyone who's "in the know" know what's going on with that show this year? On the calendar its desginated as a regular show. Help please! :sos:
  5. My university uses ludwig, and it has become nothing but a giant headache with those things, they first sent us a set of tenors that had this HUGE wood frame around it, that just made those things weigh a ton. I'm not the biggest fan of their snare strainer system. Ludwig is trying to get back into the actvity by endorsing a number of college lines. To my knowledge I think there's only a handful that are actual sponsored Ludwig users. I think its gonna take alot more time, and effort on their part to put out an exceptional product to get back to their golden years.
  6. yeah BUMP!! The Americanos is a great organization to be involved with. Not only are we looking for more color guard members but were also accepting more brass members! Bring ure friends to the next camp and get involved with The Americanos! This is my first year with The Americanos as well, and I can truly say that I feel like family with them, even though I have only been to the camps with the organization. We have a great show this year, and are looking forward to tour!
  7. DUDE!! i didn' t know u were from canos! sorry to kinda bud in on your thing here.
  8. I can tell you that my corps is still looking for contra players, were also looking for mello, and sop players. I can also tell you my drum corps is Americanos. go to www.canos.org to fill out a membership interest form, or call (920) 722-5543 for more info. Next camp is going to be April 30-May 2. Love to see ya all there!
  9. hiccups05, what i meant by the 21/22 comment was that members that have their birthday in the tour months (June 1-August ??) are able to march an extra year. So if son were to have his birthday for example in July, he could march WHILE he was 21, and then July turn 22. That would be considered his age-out year. It's kind of like a little loop-hole through the rules. My birthday is May 27. So you can get a feel on how I feel about this rule. so if my math is right, your son has 4 years of marching, including this upcoming season.
  10. i actually voted "no age" but i was a little confused. I actually meant to vote to not change the age limit. I think 21/22 is a good cutoff point, because like Psiguy said, there would be too many people trying to find jobs that could let them work only in the fall and winter. I know by the time I age-out i will be looking for a summer internship and an actual job <**>
