  1. I believe that was the "Heart Fund" show...
  2. This picture was taken in Whitewater, WI during DCI Midwest Prelims. That's the lovely Ann Jonelis and Scott Slutter on Euphonium to the far left of the pic. We finished 3rd that afternoon behind BD and SCV and 5th in finals.
  3. The Greatest Night in Cadet History "....FOR HOLY NAME SHALL ALWAYS BE!!!"
  4. This should have not been left off the Legacy DVD....my one disappointment. :(
  5. I know that it's Dave Zins who yells "blow me away" and Shawn Herbert "..bring it back east"....on the sidelines
  6. A great man once said, "Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated." :P I had the opportunity to watch the Raiders rehearse this weekend and I'm proud to say that the corps is in excellent shape. There's a great article in the upcoming edition of Drum Corps World and is now available online. Here's a link: Drum Corps World
  7. Dang, we had fun that year, in spite of second season score slide against Garfield, of all people..... :P <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We got tired of eating Lime Jell-O every night!
  8. Easy there Triumph....you don't want me to poop on you!
  9. I stand corrected about 1980. However, I still prefer Guardsmen 1979. The solos were on fire! Just a matter of personal preference.
  10. Crossmen's version of "Tiger" wasn't a concert piece..... BD being undefeated in 1982 has no bearing on my list.
  11. Beethoven's Ninth- 78 Phantom Regiment Flamenco Cha-Cha- 76 Caballeros
  12. Bayonne Bridgemen......Carnivalita, I believe?????
  13. Alot of corps in the 70's and early 80's would bring back music from the previous season....including the corps who won. In fact, the Garfield Cadets of 1984 & 1985 were the first corps to win DCI in consecutive years, each with a completely different show than the year before (yes, I realize Rocky Point Holiday was a holdover from 82 but we didn't win).
  14. Well, here's my side....if you take a look at both selections from the 1980 show, The Bridgemen did a considerable amount of drill during "In The Stone" and very little "park & bark". There was almost constant movement throughout the piece. At the end and they set up for "Big Noise..." the form looks like a stage and the focus was on the guard portraying Bette Midler and the Harlettes. There were zero drill sets during "Big Noise....". Using the "model" of the time (OTL, production, concert, drum solo, exit) the difference is clear. If anything, I debate that "In the Stone" was more of the "production number and "Big Noise from Winnetka" was the cocert piece. Anyone else care to throw in their $.02????
  15. Dude...you need to get the Bridgemen CD if they still have any available. John, hook this man up!
  16. I'm with ya there John. 1978 is probably the most underrated Bridgemen show ever. The brass was on fire! ....from Bayonne, New Jersey :::HYPE!::: The Bridgemen!
  17. I too love "Conquest! However, perhaps some true old-timers can back me up on this.....wouldn't Conquest be considered more of a "re-entry" as opposed to an "exit"????
  18. Hey Mike.... How about 1977 Garfield "I Don't Know How To Love Him" complete with rifles joining in on soprano for the hit and of course the vocal "Amen!" "...For Holy Name shall always be!" :)
  19. How could I be so remiss.....I beg your forgiveness...... I played the famous Ken Norman chart with the 1992 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade All-Star Drum & Bugle Corps....we tried to blow Willard Scott out of his perch on the hit! :)
