  1. Will finish college in the Spring of '09 (or Fall '10 depending if I do the double major or not) and under the old rules will ageout in 2008. Personally I hope this doesn't pass, as there is a point when it's time to move past drum corps and continue with real life, and I am somewhat looking forward to it and being done.
  2. Really nice article. I wish I could have used this when back when I first started.
  3. West side of downtown Orlando is pretty crappy, I'll give you that If I don't march and do summer school again, 5 minute walk from my housing!
  4. Nice. Never seen this picture before. As far as the OP, I'm sorry, but I don't think they should have to filter through pictures to find action shots, on the field pictures, etc... if it's based on fan submissions. And I personally kind of like seeing the group shots that most people tend to submit.
  5. Are you sure it's not your sound equipment? Have you tried playing it on multiple sound mediums? (Computer, car, etc...)
  6. First, sorry for calling you an ###. Secondly, thank you for the more detailed explanation into your opinion. I can respect that :)

  8. It's not someone elses marching experience, it's yours. Do whatever you want to do.
  9. Duts don't annoy me nearly as much as your purposely misspelling all the numbers in the poll.
  10. Can't comment on '07, but Ill agree with Brian and his choice for Bluecoats '05, and also add in Phantom '05 for music. Not really sure on visual, as I do not watch enough recordings to have a favorite. Edit: For music, also add in Crossmen 2000 and 2003
  11. I'll probably get called out for something in here I'm going to say, but here goes. I've noticed a lot of people here pointing out that it's about FINDING those additional revenue streams to help bring in the big bucks, but in all honesty, I don't think this is a viable solution. One of the reasons I sat this summer out and didn't march was because I needed (moreso wanted) to take one of the courses in the College of Business at my school that most consider to be the most challenging because of the work load (all done in groups, by the end of the summer we had written 3 reports, proposals, etc... with each one being around 70 to 80 pages) where we have actual classwork to do and then the group project to raise money, and the fact that it's just a difficult class to begin with. My group was fortunate enough to work with a branch of the Children's Home Society of Florida, this particular branch being an emergency shelter for abused and neglected children under the age of 5 which served as a halfway home between the child's unsafe living environment and their being entered into the state adoption system. Our contact at the home mentioned to us that in order for the Orlando area to operate the 3 shelters providing these services, she was required to fundraise about $500,000 a month, and mentioned that they usually just made the cut off. My group was able to raise about $2,000 in a little over a month, and it was by far the most challenging thing I've had to take part in. Corporate sponsors were a nightmare to deal with, and most of the funds we raised were done through car washes, bake sales, and door to door donations. Please note that I am not trying to discourage corps fundraising efforts, but if an emergency children's shelter is having extreme difficulties scraping by with tax payer dollars and then additional efforts from the public, I have a hard time seeing very many individuals contribute to a single corps finances in that same manner, let alone for something having a far less impact on society. (At least to me, a 5 year olds well being > a drum corps well being) Sorry if this offends anyone
  12. As this thread clearly exhibits, the internet is serious business.
  13. This thread is starting to look like the Intermediate Financial Accounting Concepts and Analysis midterm I just took this morning
