I'm excited to see SPIRIT, the colorguard was a breath of fresh air last season, and this year MORE guys are here... I'm excited to see what they can do (yes I know I march with Spirit, but I haven't gotten to OBSERVE the CG yet)

I am a little biased, but I gotta hand it to the Spirit Contras... Also, PR always has great Contra lines :P

Good comaprison... (As a previous Euph player) Euphs are the best, and my favorite, props to anyone who marches those beasts!

Rick, I've been on both sides of the field. I marched Drums in HS, and I march Euph in corps. As Drum Capt at my HS I had to DUT constantly.... not only for my line, but FOR the Wind players as well.... And lemme tell you, I am one loud Chick when it comes to DUTting. I have videos of me louder than the Brass line. LOL... But If I wasn't as loud, then the band did kind of not watch the DM or follow either. So I guess Dutting really isn't a distracting thing in some cases.

Mine was actually my VERY first instructor (in four years I've had 3). Dave Carbone He is the REASON I started playing percussion in 9th grade. HE helped me see the true meaning of PERCUSSION and not just pit/drumline, and banging away at things. I played woodwinds, and completely converted to percussion. He was always willing to help anybody out with parts, or even problems not concerning the line. He was more of a mentor for me than an instructor. He was a talented musician, and incredible writer/arranger, and a great man. He left us for a position as a director, and I think he is in the midwest somewhere. I know he marched I THINK, cavies in the early 90s?? maybe... If anybody has been fortunate enough to work with this great man, you have truly been priviledged. I think I have everyone beat.... I'm a piccolo player, that marched Drumline in High School, but has to take a year off for my wrists, so I'm marching Euphonium at Spirit this year. ;)
