  1. It's pretty cool. Yeah, it does resemble Blue Devils a bit, but that is why the helmet is there (Bluecoats must always have a helmet). One thing I am concerned about (I am surprised no one has mentioned this) is the crotch area. The pants do some wierd things there and it looks like that could restrict a step size. Does anyone else see this. But overall just a very good uniform update. Probably the best update since Crown in 2003.
  2. Can anyone tell me why it has never came back to Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium. The city just passed a huge renovation bill and it should be complete by 2008. Plus, the rolling roof is coming.
  3. I am not for sure, but it seems that they did beat The Cadets in 2003. I know they tied them at San Antonio for sure. And if they did not beat them they were scoring higher, but at different shows.
  4. I do not think it would be in the best interest of the marcher. Many members belong to a corps because it is closest to home. I am from Missouri. I know that at least 90% of Missouri marchers go to a Wisconsin or Illinois corps because they are the closest. This could force a auditionee to join the Blue Devils, but they happen to live in Florida. Not a good commuting situation. But it is fun to think about.
  5. What if DCI would hold a mass audition for all that is interested in marching and the corps staff drafted thier members? Pros -All corps would have an equal chance at a World Championship -Each corps would have 135 members I don't actually support this because I realize it would eliminate the special feeling of being a member of a certain corps. Just something that popped in my head. What are all of your thoughts?
  6. Wow, Memphis Sound jumped 6 points in one day? Seems unreal.
  7. Great pics. Are they competing in Europe? If so, what are they scoring?
  8. Probably not the most interesting thing musically. But you need to hear the Igor Stravinsky orchestration of the Star Spangled Banner. He does wonderful things to the harmony including non-chord tones, chord subs, and a free use of extended tertian chords. In fact, after the premier of this piece, he was arrested for tampering with a national document. Just piece of musicology for everyone.
  9. The BD '89 soloist may have missed that one, lousey note at final. But for all who has heard the semis recording knows that he could really nail it ever other time.
  10. Great clip. Marine D&B Corps is always very tight. Too bad it had to be on Fox.
  11. I say no. The reason is that Kansas City is remodeling Arrowhead including the surrounding area to get a Super Bowl, All-Star Game, Concerts, and much more. I believe that DCI will be more apt to go back to Arrowhead once this is carried out over the next few years.
  12. I choose other because OPEC should just lower the prices or everywhere could switch to E85. But in all actualality none of these would happen so I guess best answer would be a shorter tour.
  13. Pavane for a Dead Princess by Ravel This piece is just absolutely beautiful. I am surprised that no junior corps have done it.
