  1. Well, when I was in sixth grade, we all had to pick what instruments we wanted, and we got three choices. We had to write them down and turn them in. The next day, we found out what we got to play. My choices, in order, were: 1.Sax 2.F horn 3.trombone I was so upset that I got "stuck" with my 3rd choice. Well, 13yrs later I couldn't be happier about being a 'bone player. I picked up baritone in Corps ( though I don't call myself a baritone player ) and have even had the opportunity to play bari in some community ensembles. But t-bone is where it's at for me.
  2. I didn't know they let flute players play REAL horns!! :D J/K I tend to agree about the Euphs laying a nice foundation. A well balanced, in tune Euph section can make me weak the knees!! There is nothing finer than an entrance with a hoss Euph line layin it down!!
  3. Troopers. I think they'd hold out just to be different. I'll agree that Madison would definitely be one of the last Corps to go though.
  4. Alright, get ready to cringe.... I marched an 11C !!! ( Darn trombone players trying to play Bari!!!! ) I know it seems a little small for Corps, but being a jazzer Ijust couldn't give up my "range" mouthpiece for one of those oversized heavy flow things. I think it worked out OK. It just forced me to focus my air a little more. Jen Swanson
  5. I agree, I think extra votes are in order here. I think that '80 Spirit hornline is one the prime examples of pure balls to walls rip your face of sound!! I also think that '96 Phantom was the fullest, richest hornline I have ever heard!! (I really haven't heard that many though.) I also have to go with the earlier write in vote for Star '92. ( I can't believe you left that off your list Louie ) Jen Swanson :P
  6. Well, in a REALLY biased opinion, Spirit's " Let it Be Me " lick at the end of last year's show gives me goosebumps. Star of Indiana's Bari line in their American show ( can't remember the year ) when they all play the intro to the National Anthem in unison, totally rocks. And Madison's whole Sop line through out the '99 show sizzles !!! Jen Swanson
