  1. Capital Sound has gotten smaller since winter camps when we had around 40, but a lot of members left before the season so now they are in the 30-33 range.
  2. HAHAHA, that was my girlfriend. Yeah same announcer...but apparently I missed her post. hmmmm...she has a better memory than I do, so I will take her word that it was after blue stars.
  3. Let me start off by saying that I marched 4 years of drum corps 1 year in Decorah Kilties 3 years in Capital Sound I made a trip to Cedarburg Wisconsin to see a show with Capital Sound in it over my Birthday on July 3rd and I heard one of the most ridiculous statements made that I have ever heard DURING a drum corps show. After all the div 2 and 3s performed Pioneer performed their show. As Pioneer was walking off the field they were getting a moderate ovation. To apparently psych the crowd up the announcer said...and this is a direct quote, I have witnesses. "C'mon folks, this is what drum corps is all about....Division 1." My girlfriend (who marched since 99 in Bandettes and last year in Capital Sound) were stunned to hear that statement. I know the guy probably didnt mean really anything by it, and he defenitely didnt mean to hurt the kids feelings....but man...that hurt a bit. In my opinion I feel that the heart and soul or drum corps is not in the 21 year old marching his second year of blue devils, it is in the heart of a 16 year old marching CS, or any of the other wonderful division 2 and 3 corps out there. Those are just my thoughts...Now what are yours?
  4. yeah they went together for a year and Created THE drum corps midwest championship or something like that. They brought in a whole bunch of east coast div 1 corps for the first night and had a the DCM contest the second night. Apparently nothing came out of it because after that year all the div 1s except pio left and DCM defenitely is nothing like it was in 2002, my first year of corps. I long for those 2002 days, that was fun
  5. that was a more general comment...It was not completely aimed at you. my apologies
  6. They set off fireworks at opening ceremonies in 2002. How do I remember...? I was standing next to the Bluecoats on the field. Everytime a blue firework went off, what did I hear? BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUE
  7. the objective of Stealth is to come out of nowhere. The drum corps planet community is not entitled to have every single bit of information about a corps...usually because the DCP community will either judge corps by numbers or something like that. If corps want you to know something, they will tell you. Unless you decide to show up to a camp or try to get info out of members or by hearsay that is all you are going to get. in short..my point Take the information that corps give you...and don't blast them if they don't give you anything.
  8. it is in the process of being fixed. Give it some time and enjoy the german lesson all together now.. DATEI NICHT GEFUNDEN!!!!!
  9. what does the Madison Scouts horn contract have to do with Capital Sound. If you want to know that just bring it up on the div. 1 forum. If you actually want to talk about CS we would be happy to talk about you, but if you want to bring up our former relations with the scouts that is very old news that was hashed out 3 years ago. As a corps we are moving on from those days and continuing to be a very strong and resiliant corps. Word of mouth recruiting may not be the best thing ever but so far it is doing the trick. By word of mouth alone (not even word of mouth, more word of fingers because I talked to all through the internet) I brought 5 more drummers to the last camp. What we are doing is working for us. Have a nice day Lee
  10. I'm sorry optomism about placement got you in a twist... yes we are more in it for fun. but that doesnt mean we dont care at all... its called being human.
  11. this is true...but deceptively true. A lot of kids had conflicts... (alot meaning we are easily over 30...so no worries) We had no brass staff at camp, that doesnt mean we dont have a brass staff. For that matter we have a full staff this year, including techs for all parts of the drumline (which we didnt have last year). Our numbers were down at last camp. But they will be back up and we will be fine. Since the camp I have personally talked to 10 possible recruits and for the first time in my drum corps career I am going to be driving up to madison with a full car load of potential members. Our staff has music picked (no we havnt announced it yet) and this year is looking to be a great year. what I have to say on your post is... If the members of Capital Sound or the staff want to make an announcement on our numbers or anything they will....we don't need a third party (who didnt know all the facts...be honest, you didnt) to announce anything for us. Peace love and drum corps Lee
  12. ummmm...I have to root for CS because I am in it..stock but, I really would like to see pride, allegiance, and dutch boy do well what can I say, my girlfriend is canadian and its getting to my system haha
  13. Hey, everybody. We are recruiting pretty heavily and will hopefully have a great turn out for our first camp. The returning members are very excited about the season and we hope to move up from our 5th place position last year. If you are looking for a corps, keep us in mind. We are a great corps with a very positive attitude. Peace, Love, and Drum Corps Lee Plummer
  14. haha.... keep up the good work guys, It was cool seeing you at shows. p.s. thanks to whichever member of your corps gave my girlfriend (a fellow canadian and a former bandette member) a canadian pin. It was one of her favorite memories of the summer peace
