  1. I can actually see it his way. That cite is a for Cadets fans and followers and maybe does not want to get into a heated discussion on their own cite. There are plenty of other forums that that happens on.
  2. who will take the lead? My guess is Cavaliers by 1.5
  3. Yes they are. After the Stockton show, their last on the west coast on July 1st, they all board the train and head to the midwest on Amtrak.
  4. I don't know if that is the case anymore. Back then, BD and SCV competed in DrumCorpWest early on. DCM and DrumcorpEast also had their regional competitions. Now, all show are DCI judged shows. Time will tell when they meet up with corps from the midwest and east.
  5. Those are it. I actually like them. They needed some white to contrast with SCV dark pants and red tops.
  6. Too lazy? How hard is it to look? You take your mouse and scroll down..and not far because there are TONS of Coats stuff on here and "click". Does not require much...a couple of fingers and two eyeballs.
  7. last i saw 4 or 5 corps with a shot at the top trophy was in 1990. The top 5 that year, everyone was beating everyone. Would love to see that type of season again B)
  8. From my source, They did fold. The lead singer had stage fright. Hoppy made a decision that without his star singer, the show just could not go on.
  9. And i'm not talking about a 5th place finish. I have no problem with that. Looks like Cavies, BD and Cadets should be looking over their shoulders. They just might have another one to add to the pac.
  10. Kinda off the subject...SEE THE MOVIE(s). I and II are great movies. The DVD is great and they don't look dated at all. Two of the best movies of all time.
  11. How many judges saw Phantom of the Opera when SCV won in 1989? How many saw Porgy and Bess or Les Miserable or City of Angels? Phantom of the Opera come out on Broadway 1987 and SCV had show n 1988 and 89.
  12. I've seen SCV this year and i do say they are better than last year but....they are not at the level they were in 1998, 1999 or even the shows in the early 2000's. I understand the excitement that SCV brings to people but when i hear people say that SCV was "Clearly" better than BD, then what gives? They have not won one caption or subcaption against BD and that says more than BD is just "cleaner".
  13. How many times has SCV past the Devils? Since 1990, only twice. 1991 and 1998. It won't happen this year either.
  14. That was probably one of the worst flights i've ever taken. The time i went, the plane was full, lots of kids for some reason and tons of air turb. United huh....you gonna get some ###### off flight attendants (low pay, pension cut in half).
  15. LA Area Airports.. LAX...the big one. Burbank..for Valley people John Wayne...for a visit to Disneyland Long Beach...small and far.
  16. I've done that route before. Make sure you walk up and down during the flight. What airline? Lots of airlines are cutting back on extra services. The longest flight i've taken was to Singapore from San Francisco. Flew there twice. Once on Singapore Airlines which has amazing service. Drinks were free and had a great personal entertainment system which you can choose which movies you want to watch, listen to music or play games. Had one stop in Seoul which was a breeze. The second time was on Northwest Airlines which all i can say is that i got to my destination. The plane was old, the entertainment was old movies which you had to watch on monitors down the aisles. Bring your own labtop or a long book.
  17. Phantom Regiment came out last year. Couldn't ask for a better replacement.
  18. I respectively disagree. Love SCV this year but sorry, their show is not at the level of the Devs. It's not just about "Cleaning" as this phrase just gets used too much. I remember being said last year about SCV. All they need to do is do some "cleaning" and they'll be in the hunt. I've seen both shows. BD is just plain better clean or not.
  19. give them time, they're probably doing scores now. The Blue Devils were scheduled to go on last at 9pm.
  20. Was actually a warm to hot day in the bay area. I like the stadium but the sun hits your face until about 8pm. The field is terrible. make BD's practice (Mars) look good. Didn't see River City. SF Renegades...look smaller that in past years. Not the volume like i've heard before. Good show but was lookin for my face to peal from their hornline. Fever..Small. Competing in div. 3. Only did about half of their show. Drums are the strengh. BDC..cute. But the field played into a terrible accident. One kid fell down while marching backwards and about three others fell on him. He was hurt and had to be carried off the field. BDB..Big and strong. These guys can medal in Madison in div. 2. SCCadets..Better than last year. Manderins..New unis. Like them. Same old Manderins. Good but can't seem to break into the next level. If they make semis, that would be a great year for them. BD..Love the unis. The stripes stand out. The new drums look nothing like in the picture. What can i say. They're good...very good. Lots of dirt in the show but once cleaned...the show can win. I can see ad ons and a new ending in the future. Everything works. SCV..better than i was thinking. I don't think it will compete for a title but this is a good show. This show is not your aggressive SCV type..has a softer feel to them.
  21. the next night BD broke 80. In 1995, BD was scoring in the high 70's (78, 79 something) in their first shows.
  22. cavaliers 73.900 Gman 67.100 Swind 58.650 pioneer 49.850
  23. As much as i would love to see an old fashion battle btw SCV and BD, i don't think SC will beat BD at the first show or even this year. I would not be suprise at at a 8-10 pt spread. SCV is most likely in the ranks of Crown or Boston, not BD or Cavies or Cadets.
