Drum Corps Europe has added a new section to its website: DCE My News. It is a collection of the latest drum corps headlines from many sources, all brought together on one page. Visitors can decide which headlines they want to see. DCE My News publishes news from eighteen news (and discussion) feeds in several languages. News feeds can be edited, deleted and moved to another spot on the page by all users. And it is also possible to add new feeds. Preferences are stored in a 'cookie', so the browser will remember the preferences. DCE My News can be found at www.drumcorpseurope.org/mynews.

Hi all, Thanks for the positive comments. The webcast is a trial, and although we did some tests with it we're not sure what happens if many people will be watching. But hopefully everything will run fine. Please remember the video and audio have limited quality and the video is high camera only, but at least you will get an idea of what the European corps do on the field. Hi all, I am aware that this is definitely not the right forum section for my post, but the International Forum is a bit quiet so I hope the moderators allow this topic here for a while. Drum Corps Europe will make a live webcast of the DCE Championships this Saturday in Kerkrade, with audio and video streaming. Drum corps fans who can't travel to Kerkrade will still be able to see what's happening in the Parkstad Limburg Stadium. In previous years a webcam sent a picture to the server every 5 seconds. This time the webcast will be a live audio and video streaming event (high camera view). The audio and video will have limited quality (please do not expect DVD or DCI Fan Network quality), and this year is a test. We published a banner on Drum Corps Planet that forwards to the webcast. The webcast will start Saturday at 10.00 am (local time) and can be accessed through www.drumcorpseurope.org/webcast. Hi Sopchick, There is no age limit in DCE, and the DCE Competition Manual doesn't have a rule for maximum size. The drum corps competitions in Europe (The UK, The Netherlands, Germany) lean more towards the DCA season (weekend competitions from May - September). In fact the DVDs are region 0 (unrestricted and unencoded, playable on most DVD players worldwide). However you might want to check if your stand-alone DVD player and TV can play the PAL system. Our DVDs are in PAL format, not NTSC. The discs should play without problems in any PC DVD-ROM drive. :) Marco

Hi all, Drum Corps Europe offers a news service on its website for European drum corps fans (in English, Dutch, German and French). Sometimes we receive English press releases from French, Dutch and German corps. These texts need to be edited before they can be published. Are there drum corps fans in the USA and/or UK who want to help us editing these texts into correct English? We're talking about no more than 2 press releases per week. We can't pay anything for this job, but we really hope that you are willing to help the European drum corps community with this. It is the fourth supported European language, besides English, Dutch and German. The French version is identical to the other versions, including a French webshop and news section.
