  1. 1993. And If I recall correctly they did a similar feature in 2005 or 2006.

  3. I had no idea there were actual trophies!
  4. Thank you all for the kind words and offers of support in this time of need for our corps of unspecified identity. We are weighing our options before we jump to any decisions regarding sponsorships for the corps and other operational items. The corps is very encouraged as we continue to work hard on our production for this upcoming season. I will keep you posted on any major decisions the board makes regarding the future direction of the corps.
  5. If the Blue Knights hold pattern, the next version of Trittico is due next year! They should at least reference it. Back to Fantasy, though... sorry to get off topic. ;)
  6. WALL MART drops sponsorship of drum corps, remaining organization without name or funding Cites unacceptable results as primary factor March 20, 2008 DETROIT, MI -- The WALL MART Virtual Corporation today announced it was dropping its corporate sponsorship of the Gypsum Board Brigade Drum and Bugle Corps, and is taking the corps name with it. "The corps did not perform to our expected level of achievement," said James Smith, CEO of the WALL MART Virtual Corporation. "Their result in the DCP-I Finals was not sufficient enough to garner widespread recognition to our products, or the wall finishing industry in general, for that matter." The Gypsum Board Brigade sponsored by WALL MART earned a score of 93.224 in Finals competition, more than 7 tenths behind the first place corps, Kosmos of Indiana. The corps was able to earn the top seed in the DCP-I Quarterfinals, but remained in the 7th position in both Semi-Finals and Finals. "For now, we are the corps of unspecified identity," said director Chris Rohn, who is very disappointed with the withdrawal of the WALL MART sponsorship. "We will need to find a new sponsor, which is very difficult to get in our activity. In the meantime, we will begin aggressive fund raising to assist in paying for our next tour." The corps will depart on its next DCP-I tour on June 21 of this year. Although the withdrawal of the WALL MART sponsorship is a blow to the corps, "we are fortunate to retain our state-of-the-art practice facility and line of 2008 motor coaches as a donation to the corps," Rohn said.
  7. I have a question about how scores are projected on dates when a corps doesn't compete. Is this done on a liner projection over a certain amount of time? If so, what is the time span? Or is it based on a projection from the last "X" shows? I had made a few calculations/projections of my own for DCP-I 9 and was pretty off mark. Just curious if there is a formula to use for future reference. Thanks!
  8. Looks like we couldn't break the curse! I had a great time in my first season and I'm looking forward to the approaching summer. Congrats Kosmos and to all for a great season!
  9. i made my changes at 10:01am yesterday, and i'm still not permitted to make my changes.
  10. Can't complain about a 7th place finish in Semi Finals... we're in the Big Show and have what it takes to win the championship! Congratulations to The Knights who placed 1st last night. Now THERE is a position to be worried about, with the fierce competition there is this year! Good luck to all at the show! When will we be able to make our final caption changes?
  11. I hope you'll agree that one corps for Southeast Michigan isn't enough, and the Gypsum Board Brigade sponsored by WALL MART has its facilities in the City of Detroit. I don't think I made any mis-statements, and didn't intend to offend the Skylarks! Apologies if that was the case!
  12. The Gypsum Board Brigade sponsored by WALL MART intends to break that curse.
  13. Holy smokes! We thought we had a great show last night but we had no idea we would be headed into semi-finals in first place! The corps is extremely excited about the news. We have put so much work into our program this year, and its great to see that our program, "From Plaster to Plywood, A History of Wall Finishes" has connected so well with our fans and the judges. Good luck to all tonight in Semi's!
  14. The Gypsum Board Brigade sponsored by WALL MART had by far their best performance of the season tonight, now we leave it up to the judges to decide how well we stack up against the rest of these fine corps! Good luck to all!
  15. Wow! Star of Hawaii, that's some hot stuff. Outpacing the competition by over a point!
  16. I have a question which may have been answered somewhere already. In 2006 Percussion had two judges, where in 2007 there was only one. For 2006 captions in music percussion, does the scorekeeper average the pit/ensemble scores to get the final value or are you using percussion ensemble only?
  17. I have the same issue. I first made changes to my captions on Friday morning, then the next week I had to wait until Friday afternoon, then last week I had to wait until overnight Saturday, and this week it still says I can't make my changes. It seems that it doesn't register when we make the change when we make the change, but when the change gets approved on the other end. I still can't make my changes for the week, and I wanted to make them Friday morning. Is there any way to set the system to register our changes when we submit them instead of when they are approved/applied? This would make life much easier.
  18. The hard work from the Gypsum Board Brigade sponsored by WALL MART paid off. We felt fortunate to squeeze into DCP-I North Finals in the last Division I slot, and left the competition Saturday as champions by a wide margin. The audiences we perform for continue to shun to our program, "From Plaster to Plywood, A History of Wall Finishes." Needless to say, the boos of the crowd upon announcement of our placement Saturday night were not taken well by our members. The Gypsum Board Brigade sponsored by WALL MART urges DCP-I fans to take the high road and cheer on all competing corps.
  19. The WALL MART Virtual Corporation has been very generous to the Gypsum Board Brigade this week by flying in world renowned consultants to assist our 100% rookie corps in our extensive show improvements. While our first performance in Champaign earned a lackluster 7th place finish, the corps has rallied to a Second Place finish in Toledo over the weekend, placing behind the #1 ranked Florida Dragon Battalion. We are currently struggling with our GE scores, as the audience is having difficulty understanding our program titled "From Plaster to Plywood: A History of Wall Finishes," but we are certain with time and multiple viewings by the DCP-I fans they will learn to love this program as much as we do.
  20. The Gypsum Board Brigade sponsored by WALL MART is based in Detroit, MI.
  21. Its all China silk as long as its "MADE IN CHINA"
