And I ask you were you there to see the kids NOT get fed? Well I was there for 1/2 of the summer on tour giving up vacation time busting my butt in the heat on the food truck cooking the 4 meals a day some claim they didn't have. Let me tell you that there was food there if they didn't eat then it was because they didn't come to the truck and get the food being prepared each and everyday! I have seen this posted over and over again and am sick and tired of seeing it! Like Jami said 06 is over and done, things are in the works for 08, instead of hashing out old news, lets see the positive in Capitail Regiment coming back out in 08 and know that things are going to be great for the corps. Please help Capital Regiment come back stonger and better than ever by promoting the positive news that is coming from them.

Got ya beat on this one....I got a triple in 06...an over and under and then the elbow as I pulled my arm out and hit the very hot door!!!!YIKES

How about this..... You know you are a Corp food truck Volunteer if....... 1. You have burns from the convection oven/stockpot burners/griddle 2. Dishpan hands 3. No clean clothes while on tour because eveything you have is covered in some food product 4. Go days without a shower/sleep 5. Have a corp tan just like the kids from standing in the hot sun serving meal after meal.

OH HOW SO TRUE Also you go into Sam's, SuperWalmart..etc and grap 4 carts and take off for some "power"shopping. your up at 5 and start breakfast so everyone can eat and be on the go by 8 For the first few weeks home from tour you forget you are only cookng for 4 not 165, and have to cut the portions WAY down!

Kudos to Rick! What a wonderful way to show just what you and the Capital Regiment organization is all about. This is what Drum Corps do for each other by helping out each other in times of need. You are truley a great person to give up your time to do this and I can tell by the comments on the SW website that they are very greatful. I am glad our girl is getting to tour this year after all, just hope she doesn't like CA to much....LOL

Ice You are entitled to your opinion, but to tear a group of fine hardworking kids apart like this is totally uncalled for. <**> They took what was given to them and performed it very well all summer. Funny every time I was sitting in the crowd during a performance the crowd loved that section of the show. I guess the wild,crazy standing ovation in Allentown shows just how awful it was. Or the way the crowd went nuts every time the frisbee was caught. We get it YOU didn't like the show, but don't be a jerk and beat up the hardworking kids that put everything they had into it. I for one enjoyed the show every time I saw it, as did many others in the crowd.

Things are going great at Capital Regiment. They just launched a very cool new website and forum. Check it out at Capital Regiment Rick has staff lined up for the 08 season and things are moving forward toward a very successful season. I think people will be quite pleased when Capital Regiment takes the field in 08. Right now what they need is the support of the entire DCI and DCP community. As a parent of a member and a volunteer I think it is time we got over the negitive and move on to the future of this corps. Things are changing for the better and I think 08 is going to be the best season yet. I know we are looking forward to camps starting in Nov. B)

Yes Matt You are correct, you have to be inactive for 2 years. Going inactive for 1 yr, Cap will be able to come back into Div 1.

:ramd: Your right it does not matter where it happened!!!!! But it happened once and was never repeated. As someone who gave up 5 weeks for their summer to work the food truck for you I am just sick of hearing how poorly you were fed over the summer. I know it was not steak and lobster all summer but it was good food. I worked my butt off for you to make sure you were fed well rounded meals that always included meat,veggies,fruit,salad and other things. As someonme else put it sorry you were fed slop all summer but I don't remember cooking slop! I know we had problems getting the food truck to certain places but you were still fed very well with filling meals. Sorry to sound so...whatever...but it just burns me to see that I work so hard for 5 weeks to cook on the truck and everyone feels they were not fed well over the summer. I also know that when Carlolyn was on the truck you were getting fed good meals as well, and she was there for 3 weeks. So that makes 8 weeks total out of the 10 weeks of tour that there was someone on the truck that knows how to fed a corps. I am sorry if you still feel you were not fed well but I just had to say something about it. I never saw anyone of you go hungry while I was there! NO they were not fed cake and ice cream after the Columbus show.....No one got sick after the colubus show.....It was NOT the only meal they had that day....so get your stories right before you go and start this kind of stuff. I was working the food truck at this time...they had a very good dinner after the show in Columbus.. Please make sure you know the facts before you come on here and start telling lies.
