We are still Home grown - just expanding our home base a little!

The Valley

Louisiana

Houston

Dallas

Oklahoma

Japan

and Now Georgia!

but still based in San Antonio!

In order to get to the next level we must be progressive and create our own oppourtunities. As someone posted on here before, new ideas can provide new results!

Embrace the new!!!!!

Congrats Wes and Marc on a brave new venture!

Huh?

How about in order to get to the next level, you need to grow a solid local base and establish visibility and credibility within the community? Spreading out limited resources over a thousand miles or so to move into the base of a previously-failed corps is a good thing? It seems to defy logic, even when the word "progressive" is used. (In my humble opinion, of course!)

But... I hope you are successful at it!

Best of luck, Revo!

Membership in Revolution has been solid - better than any Texas born organization.

Revolution Membership

2000 = 29

2001 = 49

2002 = 57

2003 = 73

2005 = 72

2006 = 76

2007 = 70

Lone Star Membership

1991 = 22

1993 = 32

1994 = 50

1995 = 58

1996 = 58

1997 = 39

1998 = 37

With Crossmen's move into town last year, it was felt that we must make sure we can grow to better preserve the existence of the organization into the future. We have built a strong base that has survived Director changes and inactivity, and rather that continue with the same system moving forward, a progressive change was in order to help get the corps to the next level. Ties with the local city will remain strong as we proved last year with all the local performances (Army All American Game, Spurs Playoffs, etc.) We only hope to grow to better meet the competitive demands and allow more kids the educational experience that drum corps provides. We have the staff and feel this venture will be met with success, but as you pointed out, only time will tell.

Hope that clarifies my optimism.
