pags
ANYONE HAVE ORDER OF APPEARANCE FOR ATLANTA ? I think it will be partly based on what happens at Murfreesboro on the 25th. Here's the order for THAT show according to DCI The competitive results of last Saturday’s DCI Southwestern Championship in San Antonio determine the order for Pearl Presents the Masters of the Summer Music Games this coming Friday, July 25 in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The top finishers from San Antonio make up the elite eight that will take the field at Johnny “Red” Floyd Stadium on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University. 1. Blue Knights – 8:00 p.m. 2. Santa Clara Vanguard – 8:17 p.m. 3. Bluecoats – 8:34 p.m. 4. The Cadets – 8:51 p.m. Intermission 5. Phantom Regiment – 9:33 p.m. 6. Carolina Crown – 9:50 p.m. 7. The Cavaliers – 10:07 p.m. 8. Blue Devils – 10:24 p.m. Times subject to change.
cmathis
So... then that means we won't know the lineup until late friday or early saturday?
Boybugle63
Read this last week ... For the following week’s event in Murfreesboro, the top eight from San Antonio will appear in reverse order at the Masters of the Summer Music Games on Friday, July 25. The results of those 8 corps will be drawn in the same groups of 1-2-3, 4-5-6 and 7-8 for performance times in Atlanta the following evening at the DCI Southeastern Championships in the Georgia Dome. The results in Atlanta will determine the order of appearance in Allentown on August 1-2, and even though it is a split line up between Friday and Saturday night, the draw in the groups of threes through the whole DCI lineup will apply. Lastly for DCI World Championship Quarterfinals, the order of appearance is determined by averaging the scores from Orlando/Denver, San Antonio, Atlanta, and Allentown. There will not be a draw so corps will appear in reverse order of that which is determined by the average.
Keith Laubhan
Awesome.... thanks for posting that. Really looking forward to this show and going to Atlanta for the first time, though I was sorta wanting to see BK twice. :) I'm sure they're pleased to be sitting in 8th with the morning to rehearse, though! Does anyone know what they will be doing about corps like Crossmen, Glassmen, Blue Knights, and Blue Stars, who ended up performing both in the morning and evening, and generated evening scores that were lower than the morning scores? For instance, Crossmen's evening score was not only lower than the morning show, but was lower than the morning scores for 3 other corps, which would seem to create a statistical disadvantage for making the evening show. For such corps, are they using the highest score for that corps from the regional, or just the most recent score from that regional? It would appear this same issue would come up with Atlanta. pags
Also, what filler score will they be using for Pioneer, Academy, and Pacific Crest? Those three were not at Orlando or Denver, but to only average their scores from the other regionals would increase their average. Mind you, it does not appear that it will be TREMENDOUSLY impactful based on where they are scoring right now, but on the chance one or more of these corps could change their program and/or performance enough to have an impact, it would seem this is something they'd have an alternate score to use in place of the regional score. Well there is no easy solution because using the highest scores (morning) would invalidate their gaps with the other corps in the evening show... DCIHasBeen
If Bluecoats are going to make any kind of a move this season, it's going to happen in Atlanta ... That slot is very favorable. Go Blue!
