The Ultimate Guide to the Atlanta Regional!

Recommended Posts

Well, they are in Kansas for a show on Wednesday, 7/23 so I would expect they'll be on the road all day Thursday before getting there on Friday for rehearsal. I still don't quite get why they are all the way up there though...that is one helluva drive to the show in Atlanta Saturday morning.

I had heard at one point that Troopers were staying at Haralson County High School west of Atlanta for the Dome. Maybe things changed.

There website still says Pigeon Forge, but I hope for their sake it is Haralson County HS....that sure is a lot more convinient!

I talked to the DCI housing coordinator this afternoon and he confirmed that Troopers are indeed staying at Haralson County High School for the Atlanta regional.

Thanks! The original post is updated. Also, I hear that Madison Scouts are having trouble finding a place. Still no info on Glassmen, Mandarins or Pacific Crest either.

First, thanks Chad for all the info. Even being from around here it was good.

One comment on the CNN Center for lunch. It's gets very very very crowded over there between the afternoon and evening shows (the break) due to all the HS band groups that attend. I usually find it's better to go eat dinner first there and then come back to search for souvies. Just my 2 cents. It is an easy walk to there and it's a food court setup.

When I have friends or family come to Atlanta to visit me, my "nickel tour" usually includes:

Millennium Gate

Please be aware this is on the MG website:

The Millennium Gate Museum will be closed from July 7th - September 3rd to complete the final phase of the building.

I'm staying over a couple days at my expense to see stuff. I'm renting a car and am planning on driving up to Chattanooga, as I've never seen Rock City/Ruby Falls/Lookout Mountain. I'll also stop at the Tennessee Aquarium, which I've heard has been expanded since I was last there several years ago.

Does anyone have any other suggestions for Chattanooga? I've heard RC/RF/LM might be kind of lame, but I've wondered about them for years. I'm also thinking of driving over to Knoxville/Gatlinburg before I fly out of Atlanta Tuesday afternoon.

Updated with Glassmen's housing info and Troopers housing address. Still no word on Madison, Pacific Crest or Mandarins.
