SCV84 Posted June 20, 2009 Share Posted June 20, 2009 Twenty-five years ago I marched my last year with SCV and I've been a huge fan of the corps ever since. I have shared the following poem with SCV on several occasions since writing it all those years ago and now I thought I'd share it with DCP. As we open another DCI season I want to wish the very best to all those wonderful kids who keep this activity alive by marching anywhere, where ever their heart or circumstances take them. Here's to a safe and spectacular season for all of them (and may Vanguard come home with their decennial championship when all is said and done. ) * * * Forgetting Frustrations Of making the line To strive for new goals Leaving old ones behind We rearrange With constant change Perfecting every part And lifting notes off paper We deliver them with heart Impressive Intensity Of artistic design Exhausting the body Exhausting the mind In uniform In unison We love to entertain In the colours that bring pride And a legend to maintain Precision Perfection A consistent machine Of sound and sight fantastic In Red, White, and Green. Vanguard has always been one of my favorite corps ever and they definately continue to amaze me. I can't wait to see them again at Stanford. I'm probably not going to be able to see SCV until Buffalo, so I'll have to depend on the Fan Network and all of my brothers and sisters in drum corps to keep me up to date until then. Looking forward to tonight's results... yeah it's that time of season again, where my return key will be getting quite a workout... scores? ...now? ...now? ...how 'bout now?
