I sure as hell hope not... The horrible insipid narration made Crown 2013 completely unwatchable for me. Thankfully, now that the season is over, I'll never have to sit through that show again; worst championship show ever. It's a shame that Crown wasn't the show missing from the 2013 BluRay, rather than BD as I would have bought it then. I understand no one cares what I think, but any show containning narration is a show that I will hate with a passion. I have never seen narration help a show in any way whatsoever; it's only a question of how much it destroys it and the scale begins somewhere around 'completely' and only gets worse from there... I wonder if I'm being a little too subtle about my absolute disdain for narration here?

First thing I thought of as well. Also, I was probably more amused than I should have been that it was Madisonscoutsfan who asked the question...

My order of priority would be: 1) Win Sanford! 2) Win both DCI Ring and Sanford Trophy. 3) Win DCI but not Sanford. ✌️😎🍻

I try to read my own posts before posting, but forgive me if my communication skills are lacking. I'm sure the vast majority of fans believed Crown were superior to every other corps on the field this year... Hence my supposing that the many fans that might be upset with my post could rest easy in the fact that the vast majority agreed with them (in other words, not with me). Did that help to clarify any?

They can't be in the mix with the top 3, because their staff are not as adept at schmoozing the judges... ...or maybe they just need to be much cleaner. :)

Placement should be almost entirely based on performance of the players alone; it should be in the kids' hands to win or lose. If two units are deemed equal in terms of demand and execution, then the nod should go to the one who better connects with the audience, the more entertaining corps. Design of the show in and of itself should have no impact whatsoever, since I've learned that some of the best designed shows are often things we have no interest in seeing and, other than maybe other designers, who really cares? If the audience is busy checking their watch or sitting on their hands or rolling their eyes, how is that a good thing for anyone? If people are leaping to their feet, screaming and throwing babies, that is obviously good for everyone. ('cept maybe the poor babies)

Watched the run through a few times when it hit YouTube. So disappointed... Was a huge Crown fan the last few years, but this show is everything I hated about Cadets a few years back... Nothing kills my ability to enjoy a corps show faster and more effectively than talking/singing into a microphone; I just can't take it. Lucky for them, I don't matter, because, if I were in control, any talking/singing into a microphone would be an automatic 80 point penalty... That way, you would be free to use it, but we wouldn't be forced to sit through it again after quarter finals. /selfish rant

What? No mention of Troopers DM who was the talk of these boards a few years back, when he refused to leave the field for flag etiquette, the colors would have been unguarded or something to that effect... Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think his name was Mark Crimm. Many Troopers DM's had a tendency to look pretty ######.

Blue Stars guard fish net at the beginning of the show was very effective. I didn't care much for this show overall on first viewing, but it really grew on me to the point where I was really hoping it could tie Crossmen to give us 13 on Saturday night...

Crown by miles... Followed by Phantom SCV Madison Scouts Crossmen It seemed 2012 was very weak, design wise, compared to 2011; hopefully 2013 will be much better...

Actually a quick google seemed to indicate that at least one part of that was accurate, but I won't pretend to know who is popular with young folk these days... Anyway, although it certainly isn't my style, I liked it for the simple fact that it was promoting DCI and that's good enough for me. Who would want to promote DCI when even corps fans want to hate on you for doing so?
