You do not need to have a corps in DCPI or CLASS to participate. For those of you who have competed before, you all know I keep the format simple for both you and I (only one caption change period, now no point increases, limited tour schedule) so that we can just have some fun and not have to worry about directing these corps as hard as we do in DCPI to remain competitive. I know we are all already very busy with that! So this is for your old timers who just wanna play!!! Any corps interested in attending should send the following information to CLASS President Gary L Currier at DCPI pm gcurrier or garycme1972@gmail.com (some of you have already done this first part and just need to submit captions and tour schedules with the groups name) each director can have up to two corps: Corps name: Director: home town: number in corps: if corps is affiliated with a DCPI corps: Completed schedule (using the following shows): July 19th Kansas City MO July 26th Houston TX August 2nd Bowling Green KY at the CLASS Championships-ALL corps must attend August 9th Nashville TN August 16th Decatur GA August 23rd Deltona FL August 30th Yorba Linda CA September 5th CLASS All-Age Preliminaries Rochester NY September 6th CLASS ACT FINALS Rochester NY (Top 10 from Preliminaries) A corps must compete in at least 3 optional shows not including CLASS Championships or Preliminaries which are mandatory. Rules: There will be 11 captions and should be submitted in this format: Field Visual: Corps X 23 pts Ensemble Visual: Corps A 5pts Color Guard: Corps D 9 pts Field Percussion: Corps D 9 pts Ensemble Percussion: Corps D 9 pts Field Brass: Corps E 5 Ensemble Brass Corps F 4pts GE Visual 1 Corps B 24 GE Visual 2 Corps B 24 GE Music 1: Corps B 24 GE Music 2: Corps B 24 Total points: 160 pts Points are from both classes this season and each corps is worth what is listed (this is based off a combination of things with last years finals as the heaviest weight). Season 5 points pts 25 Buccaneers 24 Minnesota Brass 22 Empire Statesmen 22 Hurricanes 21 Caballeros 20 Bushwackers 17 Brigadiers 17 Renegades 14 CorpsVets 13 Music City Legend 11 sunrisers 11 Crusaders 10 Kilties 10 Alliance 9 Fusion Core 8 Grenadiers 5 Govenaires 5 White Sabers 4 Carolina Gold 3 Lakeshoremen 2 Shenandoah Sound 1 Sun Devils You can use up to 160 points to fill your 11 captions. You do need to choose a corps for each caption. If two corps (or more) pick the same captions, then the corps that submitted first will keep the captions, subsequent corps will have the option of keeping the captions with a .25 penalty for every corps that has picked before them (i.e. you were second in to me, its .25, 3rd in to me .5 4th into me .75). There will be one period that allows for all 11 of your captions to be changed. The period will be between August 13th-16th. Caption choices can be submitted now and will be accepted until July 19th. Winning GE seems to be the kiss of death--only The Associates have gotten the High GE Award and won Championships...other than season one obviously no rookie director has ever won--and Bill can hardly be called a rookie to the activity anyway! On the other hand, the brass caption seems to be very beneficial. The High Brass winners at Finals have placed 1st, 2nd, 2nd, and 1st in CLASS ACT's four seasons.
