caviesfan12
Ok so a question that has been burning in the back of my head. Do you audition for The Blue Devils or Vanguard and if you are offered a spot does the staff chose if you will march BD or BDB/ Vanguard or Vanguard Cadets. So pretty much...do you audition for BD seperatly from BDB/ Vanguard and Vanguard Cadets? Im not really sure if that makes sense but i dont know any other way to describe it. BOSMarcher
For Vanguard you audition for one or the other. I do know that SCV has brought kids up from the Cadet corps in the past, but I don't think they make a habit of it.
ricshos
With SCV, they treat the 2 as completely different corps. SCV auditions are held one date, while SCVC audtions are held another date. If you don't make it into SCV, but they see you have talent, they recommend you to SCVC and give them a shot. There's also the "thanks but no thanks", but that's irrelevant right now

This years A corps included most of last year's Cadet corps.
MAV
First, you have to decide between the two organizations. BD and SCV are separate entities. Second, not sure about BD, but SCV has one audition camp for both (or they use to). Auditioners were asked to remain for the A-corps process or given the opportunity to join SCV Cadets. And of course there are are other options. Finally, there is a drive to recruit locally for SCVC and then bring members up to the A corps. This provides strong local support for bingo, community events, and the logistics of housing. Of note - Vanguard A corps entire bass drumline came up from SCV Cadets.
